    Freestyle and breast stroke.  I thought about the Olympics but didn’t start early enough!!  One of my brothers was a swimmer and he went to the Olympic pre-lims but didn’t make it any further.

     
    Oh wow!!!!   That is wonderful that your brother went to the prelims....that is pretty good.....so you need to start young?  Shoot, well that lets me out....lol...lol....lol

     
    It always helps to start young, but then you run the risk of burn out.  I really enjoyed my swim team experience.  I wasn’t the greatest but I wasn’t the worst!!  You always learn life lessons in those experiences....like hard work, sportsmanship, win graciously, lose humbly, and make great friends.  It’s really all about the experience because very few in any sport make it to the Olypmic level.  My daughter started playing softball at 8 and she is still involved in coaching and leading a travel ball organization that she and her hubby created.  She is the only ball player of all the girls she played with that still does it on a recreational rather than professional (like paid coaching, etc.) level.

    I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer.     Probably the easiest on the joints too.

     
    Yes....no stress on the joints.   Develops strength but not bulky muscles (unless you are really serious and do weight lifting as a part of the training).
