Did you have to board up your windows and such?  What on earth can you do to prepare?

 
Well....lol....we kind of have it down to a routine....you pick up and secure anything in the yard that can be blown around, board up windows...make sure you have non perishable food and water for several days in case there is no power....pack stuff Incase an evacuation order comes out....make sure you have flashlights candles, tarps etc....gas up all vehicles, because gas pumps won’t work if the power goes out....lol.....sounds like a lot but when your use to it it’s not too bad

 

lol....do you have problems getting gas? I saw on the news people in long line at 2 am in the morning...
Do you store all you plywood and stuff after the storm or throw it away...I alway wonder why so many people Rush out for plywood....shouldnt they still have it...or does it get ruined during the storm?

Well......lol.....the gas isn’t usually too bad if you go early in the morning or later in the evening.....some people store the plywood....others use it for other projects....wether to board up depends on the intensity of the storm and how close the cone is too you (the likelihood of if it will hit you or not)....then once you’ve done everything you can you just “hunker down” until it passes or evacuate if nessisary....a lot of families like ours decide to hunker down together....(otherwise known as hurricane parties...lol) .....it kinds of helps pass the time (and the worry sometimes)

Hurricane party....lol..lol....it sounds like something I would want to attend...lol..lol.   I never thought about them using the plywood for other stuff...that makes sense...duh....lol

On evacuation.....how can they make you go....or can they?    Of course, it is start to heed the warming...but I know some don't...
