Here I am again!   I was talking with a friend of mine who has done celebrity Web sites.   She says that celebrities (and I'll include Meryl in that for the purpose of this comment) don't really care about all those awards.   Giving an award is a tool that non-profits, publications, Web sites and others do to get attention for themselves, in the hopes that a celebrity will respond.   She said only rarely will the celeb him or herself get involved in asking people to vote for themselves or for others.  

This makes sense.   In giving awards, most of the time (except for the major ones) the award giver is trying to get essentially free publicity, to get more hits or to get people to buy their magazine, etc.   The celebs are not going to fall into that trap by actively promoting whatever it is.   Their image, support, fan base is too valuable to them.  

I think that makes a lot of sense tango...

I agree with you Tango and i don't think Meryl likes having an unfair advantage....she seems to like doing things on her merit alone....i mean like in the season even Maks didn't know about her depth perception issues until week 8 and only then because the reporter asked her that fan question in front of him....she could have used that all season for sympathy votes...the same goes for her broken toes...we never heard anything about them until Tony spilled it on GMA when he and NeNe where eliminated....she could consider it an unfair advantage to have Maks ask people to vote for her because of who he is and the Maksyl fan base, where the rest of the fam tweeting wouldn't be much different from the people the other nominees would have campaigning for them  and I agree he probably does support and congratulate everything she does privately between them

Loved him! This was one of the few TV shows that my mother liked (in her eighties) because it reminded her of the "old" days.

I think it is a good possiblity, just from the "clues" we have been given.  It showed up in Hawaii, she has tried to hide it for months, it is thick and has the "look" of a Cantamessa, and Maks said she could have anything from his line (which video was taken down right away) AND the pro give gifts to their celebs, so I think there is a very good chance it came from him.  I am just glad that she isn't hiding it as much as she used to........is it because the new season of DWTS is coming out and she thinks the interest in her and Maks will die down? OR........and this is what I hope.......she is getting more comfortable with having her personally life somewhat in a public view.

Of course..........I could be totally wrong in all of my thinking. LOL

It looks to me like the ring she was wearing when he was wearing one on his left hand that looked the same -- they were matching! (Maybe)

Loved this article....do you know how to find that one ice network article...the one where he compares himself to a tiger everyone would be afraid of but she just goes up and pets the tiger???  that was my favorite article from him...it was like reading a love letter to her
