My son just found out that they are going to start letting special needs, English learners and K-3rd grade back in school on September 14. Then in several weeks they will evaluate the grades 4-7 and then high school not till after the election. I am not sure how I feel about it since our numbers here are the highest in the area.
I know the feeling....I’m nervous about it too.....they’ve already had some problems with it at some schools here....has your daughter heard about her international students yetWell since her classes are on line her students can stay in their home country and still take the classes. A few are here but they have to quarantine for 14 days and she had some signed up for virtual classes that were athletes and they are going to go on a hold till the spring semester because the class she teaches will interfere with their schedule for practice, they are in their home country too. It is hard because when her class time is it is 1am in China for those students. She has to record/video all her classes, something to do with a stipulation on the visas... She has had issues with some of the students getting internet and a couple of her students have never used the internet.
Oh goodness she has her hands full....wow

My niece has been doing that online English teacher thing with Chinese students also. She lives in AZ. But her students haven’t been booking their times during covid so her work level is very low. Probably ok since she has 2 young kids who are doing the zoom school thing right now.

I won’t ever be able to go out the way things are here cause you know how my mind works...LOLLOL....yep....we are twins in that area. LOL Every time, I venture out...if I cough the next day, I think I have covid. LOL !!!!!!!!!
I was supposed to do something at church August 15.. Woke up with chills and fever, weird head ache. So I called to tell them I needed to cancel....just to protect everyone else....and, of course, the instant thought for me was “oh, no, COVID??!!!”. Well, it only lasted 36-48 hours. Chills and fever lasted maybe 6 hours or less. I just dozed off in the recliner for a while that day. Head ache stuck around another 12 hours or so, but the weird thing is, in this day of covid, you don’t think there could be other things going around!!! LOL
Did you see that only 6% of the total deaths so far were from covid?? I TOLD YOU!!! The other 94% had pre-existing conditions or comorbities!!!
Yep....lol....I mean things like asthma still exist all on their own

I just don’t drink the koolaid!! LOL. That came from the CDC....my SIL who works in medical insurance sent it around....and I’ve now seen it in many other places.
LOL.....I try not to drink the koolaid, but admit, I occasionally sip it. LOL !!!!!!!!

Wow that was weird Jet. Glad you are better. I don’t know what we will do with flu season on the horizon. At least I read that the flu season in the souther hemisphere (Australia, New Zealand, etc) has been quite mild they are reporting. That is a good thing for us I hope.

We were given a choice....you could pick ...going back to brick and mortar school, continued intensive distance learning or full virtual.....we choose the distance learning for nowMy son just found out that they are going to start letting special needs, English learners and K-3rd grade back in school on September 14. I think that what we now know is that deaths are mainly older people (like me!) and most people recover with treatment and many don’t even have symptoms so they don’t even get sick...or only a brief little thing. So we have really had our world very much turned upside down due to the unknown. It will take a very long time for “normal” to return. I refuse to even consider that it won’t come back. People out here, where hte restrictions are pretty Draconian, are starting to just sort’ve ignore a lot of the stuff. It’s ridiculous.

They are already advertising that you get the flu shot now here. I never do, but I was a bit surprised that they are promoting it already.
