Additionally, "GMA's Shake It and Dance Mirror Ball Tour Contest" kicks off next week and lucky viewers can enter to win a trip for two to attend the "Dancing With the Stars" premiere in Los Angeles on September 15. The contest begins in Boston (Monday, Sept. 8), then Chicago (Tuesday, Sept. 9) and finally Houston (Wednesday, Sept. 10). In each city, there will be a ballroom-themed dance party for 300 people. Students and instructors from Arthur Murray will teach the audience a 30 to 45 second routine using various ballroom techniques. Three audience members at each venue will be randomly selected from the audience to compete--recreating the dance routine they were taught live on the air. A former "DWTS" celebrity contestant will judge their dance moves and pick a winner in each city. Celebrity guests include Gold-medal Olympic winner Aly Raisman, reigning "Dancing with the Stars" champion Meryl Davis and Mirrorball holder J.R. Martinez.

5:30 AM??? Why in the world are they doing it so early in the morning? That is just Crazy, in my opinion.....
probably because it's for a segment of GMA which airs at 7:00 am east coast time so to air at that time east coast time it would have to be reeeeeaaaly early Chicago time right...what time zone is Chicago in????

Maybe for crowd control?!! HAHA OR--if they are gonna be live on GMA, they have to compensate for time time zones. It is an hour earlier in Chicago than NYC--so that would be 6:30 in NY. OR that could be call time for the folks who want to show up?? So they can get organized and put it together before they go on TV. Just a couple possibilities.
LOL...Jet we're thinking alike again...i just posted the same thing about time zones and being live on GMA too

Central time--an hour earlier than NY. When they get to LA it is 3 hours earlier!! So that is about 3: 30 or so to be there and hang around the "park" or the sidewalk or wherever to be involved. Sorry----I'll pass!!! LOL
OH---I just noticed it says Arthur Murray instructors will be there to teach the dances. How come they didn't consider DWM studio instructors?? Conflict of interest? Seems like they could have chosen other judges in that case. Just an after thought on the whole Maks controversy.

Interesting from LG. Does anyone else recall the tweet she put out right before Labor Day weekend, I think about "a private life is a happy life"? I kind've wondered at the time if that had anything to do with MnM since it then was quiet from them--and might have indicated he was getting some of the privacy he wanted. Just a thought--from me--no one else.
I thought the same
