Depends on how experienced the pilot was.  Sometimes they get distracted and either don’t go thru the check list or don’t do it.  The purpose of the checklist is to be certain you don’t miss anything you need to check before take off or landing.  All airplanes have them.  Low time pilots sometimes just aren’t disciplined or figure it is all ready.  Could be a faulty gauge but not likely.

That just makes it even more sadder......IF, it could have been prevented by checking a few things......

I think if the co owner of the plane was the actual pilot he may have had is pilots license for several year.  The article said he took the plane to Richmond last week.

Richmond isn’t that far, tho!  But most accidents happen while entire taking off or landing.  There is a saying that goes, “Take offs are optional, landings are mandatory!”  So very true!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Friendship is a priceless gift that can't be bought or sold, its value is far greater than a mountain made of gold.
May this FriendSHIP always have wind in its sails and a sunrise on the horizon.

Tore it up pretty badly.  You have to wonder where the runway was?  I’m not surprised no one survived, unfortunately.  A little sketchy on the experience of the pilot.  Highest accident rate is among pilots with less than 300 flying hours.

I am not sure how many hours he had.  I am sure the impact was terrible.  The new said they crashed right after takeoff.  The man on the news said he could see the plane taxi the runway several times before it took off then he saw it come down and his brother went up in his plane to locate the wreck but from the air couldn't see anything because of the tree cover and there was no smoke or fire.

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!

Just read the article..........SO SORRY.........

I am surprised that the plane doesn't look more damaged.

That’s only because they didn’t get high enough to go in nose down.  They pretty much pancaked, I would guess…and off into the brush is not a soft place to land.  Again, where was the runway….unless that brush was at the end of the runway, which means they didn’t have enough speed to rotate.

Jet is it unusual for there to be no fire or explosion when a plane crashes.
