They investigation will tell.  If you have an engine problem, you just do not go up!!  Good reason to stay on the ground.  Could have been a reason they felt they had to get home.  Those pressure can be fatal.  I hope it wasn’t something like that.  It seems strange they would call someone and say they were worried about clearing the trees.
