Hubby lost the tips of two of his fingers on his right hand when he got it caught in the router in 1996. His piece of wood hit a knot and pulled his fingers in the blade of the router. He had to have surgery and had to have pins put in them so they would heal.

The table saw we have was my dad’s so it is old and after this happed Saturday my SIL ordered a new one and it came today.  It actually has a blade guard on it and he ordered a “safety” kit for him…LOL

We are keeping a close eye on that. I know that is a huge possibility because of the type of injury. We have to soak it in warm salt water and keep it open to air out when we change the bandage this week. He will have weekly doctor appointments to make sure all is going well.

Yep, those "misshapen" , not clean cuts heal the slowest and could be an issue.  Glad you have weekly appts to keep an eye on it

LOL!!!!  good...just make sure he uses it...some of those blade guards can be taken off.....*hides my head in shame for doing that to mine*  lol

I know he is smart enough to to remove them but hopefully he won’t .  He has a push stick to push the wood through the blade.  My daddy actually made it after his table saw incounter.
