Jet I think you are on to something here...I do believe that Maks has a huge problem with lack of confidence and he over compensates in other ways...I don't mean things that are bad but I think sometime he doesn't know what to do to make things right and he is always trying to fix something when he neglects to look at himself...

Jet, you are right! Maks has this need to always be friends with every woman on the planet that he has ever known, and I'll bet he is in pain right now over the Kirstie Alley thing. At the beginning of the season he was saying that when he was a judge he criticized Leah R. even though her partner was his best friend Tony, but they are really good friends. Also, he said that he and Kirstie are (were) "extremely close". I think his definition of extremely is different from mine!
 

 
His definition may depend on the person as well!!!  LOL  He may be in pain over Meryl also--we just don't know.  If she told him she didn't want to be involved--right now anyway--or perhaps was insecure about his
behavior with other women, he may have been hurt and is now acting out.   But his pattern is to resolve these things so he feels liked by everyone (particularly women).  I think he is on a roller coaster.  I don't think he ever intended to dance beyond season 18, tho.  He said that from the beginning.  He may not have thought he wouldn't get the judging job, tho.....so he may feel a bit lost and out of sorts on that aspect.  He invested a lot of himself and years in dwts.  But life goes on and when you turn the corner, you will find some redemption as you go along the next path.

you know we talked about how Meryl is going through alot of life changes and needs time....but so is Maks....he went from being on top of the world after the win, took a trip to India...where by the way he behaved himself quite well...to come home to a massive storm of sm and and gossip show backlash and hate over something we now know he did absolutely nothing to derserve...his tried with quiet dignity during this time to go on with buisness as usual and took ALL the heat onto his own shoulders..(just my opinion..to protect Meryl)....and through all this his buisness life has forever changed...he gave up his career admittedly so he wouldn't feel like he was cheating on Meryl...thats alot for anyone to deal with...what's he doing now???  idk....but i think maybe he needs our understanding and support as much as if not more than Meryl does

I agree with you april...everyone always seems to be talking bad about Maks, but I don't really feel he has done anything to warrent that respons...I think they are both in a bit of a turmoil in their lives with all the changes they haved had and are yet to come...who knows maybe it could be the changes and struggles that bring them closer....

That often happens and I have faith that they are both smart enough and introspective enough to weather it together.  Perhaps Meryl wanted a few months this fall to get bak in a groove and see how things go.
