Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Meryl

Hey Annie! No, I wasn't aware of nene's alter-ego- LOL! Neenay is what little ones in my family have called me, because they couldn't say my name - it stuck!
I love it -- are these your grandchildren? I have often thought of making a list of the names that grandparents are called.
In an interview with Billy Bush of Access Hollywood, Maks told him of the different names he and Kirstie Alley called each other. One of the names that Maks called her was "G". Billy said, "Why did you call her that" and Maks said that it stood for Grandma! LOL

Well, gals, it is about my time to retire for the evening! Been a busy day with baby shower and baking stuff for church tomorrow.

And, you can imagine how he was bullied when he came to this country and lived in Brooklyn, NY, and was a dancer! Boys in this country who take dancing are generally considered to be sissies, gay, or somehow warped. Here, especially in Texas, it's all about huntin' and fishin'. In Europe there is not the same attitude about boys' dancing; there are historical reasons for this that I won't go into now. Just think -- Maslow's hierarchy of needs and how much older Europe is than the U.S. and has had more time to fulfull the basic needs and then move onto the arts. Nothing against hunters here, and I think it's easier for grown men to take dancing lessons.
and well Maks comes across as so strong in his self confidence and sturdy in his support of everyone around him....sometimes i think it's easy to forget he hurts too...
Indeed! He has a soft vulnerability that is refreshing when we see it. Not sure if he understands it tho. Which is not uncommon for men.
Unfortunately, they are usually afraid to show it.

I will probably check up on how things are going on this board in a few days, but I am going to step away for awhile. My reasons are identical to Tango's reasons. I do not for a minute believe that Maks is falling apart. And I can't say that he is reverting to his bad boy ways because I do not believe he was a bad boy any more than Val, or Derek or Mark or Tony is a bad boy. And I most defintiely do not believe, based on the evidence, that he is being disrespectful to Meryl and hurting her. The evidence based on a pattern of what they do when either of them is out of the country, is that MnM do communicate on a regular basis. That pattern continued today. I am confident that whether as a sweetheart or as an amazing friend, Meryl knew all about this trip before any of us did because MnM talked about it. People are telling him he needs to ask for forgiveness. Others are saying that he needs to crawl. I think his instagram picture of the writing on the wall and Lizzie's tweet all point to this. He is not doing anything wrong, and this includes the fact that he is not hurting Meryl. My opinion is so contrary to what is being said on this board that I feel it is best for me to take this break. I do not want to offend anyone. Even more I do not want to say something to someone that will hurt or wound them. We went from saying "LIsten to Maks" to questioning his very integrity in a matter of 24 to 36 hours.
It has taken me so long to write this, edit it and rewrite it that probably all the rest of you have logged off. Sweet dreams to all of you. Gabriele, I think of you and your son a lot as I am becoming acquainted with the 21 year old autistic son of a friend of mine. I spend time with him for several hours two days a week. He is a sweetheart and madly in love with Disney.
Kos please don't leave!!! i know things got rough and i don't think for a minute Maks did anything wrong....I just think he needs more understanding from us on sm....i don't think he owes anyone an apology because i don't think he did anything wrong...i am so sorry if anything i said came across that way...i do think he got hurt by the sm backlash more than we realized but i didn't mean to imply anything bad about him from that....he is just Maks...and i don't think he hurt Meryl...she seems perfectly fine....and you are one of my "sisters" on here....Val and I will jump in after you to bring you back...please don't go

Alright my dear friends, it is 1:30 am here and things seem to be a bit calmer right now so I am going to turn in for the night (my back is hurting tonight on my feet all day I guess)!!
