Since Little Bit is home sick today, I watched the Women's long program live. All I can say is, Wow! I won't make any more commentary than that until tomorrow, after NBC airs the event. I have many thoughts.

I have had a few days to think and let my "anger" soften as well as read a few more articles on things. All I can say is that this whole situation is heartbreaking. After seeing all that has went down on and off the ice, I feel for Valieva. She is still a child and I have no doubt that the adults in her life had her "under their thumb" so to speak. I haven't seen the performance, but know the result. I really hope that she finds someone that will help her pick up the pieces as she has been shattered in so many ways. It is really a shame what has been done to this girl and to the sport of skating and for the Olympics. To have all of this happen on the biggest International stage is just so heartbreaking. She may or may not have known what was going into her body, but in the end, I am putting all of the blame on the adults in her life. I hope that she can find some kind of joy going forward, but I think it may be a long journey. UGH....
Booky, since you follow skating thoroughly, what are your and the others in the skating communities opinions?
I think it is a very sad thing to happen to her and to the sport. I feel for all involved.
Anger and disgust are what many (myself included) in the skating community are feeling about this case. What a circus the ladies event has become because of Valieva's coaching team, and because the Court of Arbitration didn't have the good sense to make the right and the fair decision. I'm glad this coaching team is being investigated and that hopefully some good will come out of this, but I'm not holding my breath that anything will change anytime soon. Thank goodness Nathan won his gold medal or else these Olympics would've been a bust for me. I don't want to say anything more about what happened in the ladies Free Skate since it hasn't yet been aired in prime time.
I'll post the day's news after the competition airs tonight.

WOW!!!! That was one of the worst things I have ever seen in sports, especially the Olympics. I am almost lost for words. It was the most disturbing and heartbreaking thing I have ever seen. That is going to do so much harm to Valieva for life. That coach and whole team needs to go. Although, I don't think anything will happen to the coach. She might not be in the public competitive eye, but I but she still will be coaching "under cover". UGH!!!! I think the results were correct, but wow............ that was just horrible, horrible to watch. To be "yelled" at by your coach after suffering the worst night of your life....It broke my heart. I still think it is quite possible that the other two could be "dirty", but didn't get caught. I feel terrible for Valieva, but agree with others that she should never have been in that spot in the first place or have been on the ice in one of the biggest spotlights of the world. I blame the coach, all of the adults, those in charge of the decision to let her skate and the whole Olympic (or whatever) committee. I don't think Valieva is "innocent" in everything, but she is paying a very high price, so I will put the blame on "the powers that be". Horrible, Horrible and heartbreaking for everyone and especially for the sport of skating. UGH........I think I need more time to just think about this......It is just horrible and tragic......My heart and mind is still swimming.
