Oh, I forgot to tell everyone that the robotics team that my older girls were on and that they and R2 are still mentoring won their first ever blue banner last weekend! (They have won off-seasons before, but never a regular season event.) And Little Bit won the school Invention Convention. She is competing virtually at Regionals next week.

Re: It's 2022 Lets see what this year brings

HI< GUYS!!!!  (((GROUP HUGS)))

Was wondering if this was a chat nite!!  Guess not…no one even lurking!!  Just thought I would check in

My email has been toast for at least a week….what a BIIIIIG MESS that was to get sorted out.  But I can’t seem to get it to come up on my iPad…only the computer, which I hate to use!!!  Still need more assistance, I guess.  Sorry if anyone has tried to email me.  I so hate technology but when it doesn’t work it is the WORST!!  LOL

Nothing too new here except last week was crazy. Monday nite had bunco here (I only had to provide the house—nothing else).  On Wednesday it was my annual time to host the Ol’ Ladies bunco.  I decided to make corned beef and cabbage for lunch since i was the day before St. Patrick’s Day.  It was a hit—and not a big deal since I cooked the beef overnite in 2 crockpots.  Added the veg a couple hours before lunch time.  It was fun, but I was glad to get it over!!  On Saturday I had the Craft Guild at the church, which consumes most of the day even though it is only 2+ hours long!!!  LOL. By the time I pack up and out of here, then pack up to go home, my sidekick and I usually stop for lunch somewhere and it is about 3:00 when we get home!!  This month we picked up another lady who has wanted to come for a while but was recovering from a broken ankle for several months!!  She lives pretty close to the church so it isn’t a big deal to go by and pick her up….but she uses a lightweight “transfer” chair, so that is another thing to pack in and out!!!  LOL.

Today I had an eye doc appointment.  It’s about a 20+ minute drive each way to the office.  I do always enjoy it tho.  The doc is a hoot….and so inquisitive.  Because my vision issues are so odd, he always takes a long time with me!!! He took a lot of pictures of my eyes!!!   I actually see better out of my left eye (with 2 contacts) despite the fact that it has a thick scar right in the middle of it!!  He kept shaking his head and saying, “I can’t understand why you can see better with that eye!”  Apparently I get some refracted light around the scar that gets thru the pupil and somehow gets to the retina.  Maybe the brain fills in for what isn’t really there??!!  We did decide to leave the left eye as is since it is working well (he boosted the power on the lens a little) and I’m going to have a consult with a specialist at some point to see if he has any ideas if the right eye can be improved at all.  Not anxious to go the cornea transplant route.  I’d rather have what I have than risk blindness in one eye.  Both are correctable but the right one is kinda marginal.

Anyway, so glad all those things are DONE!!!  For now, anyway!!  Oh, yeah…and in the same timeframe, hubby’s other cousin in CO passed away.  Was sad that we had too much going last week to be able to go.  Just made me appreciate that we went for his other cousin in 2020 and had a visit with everyone.  And to add to the muck, I got a JURY SUMMONS to the courthouse in downtown LA starting TODAY!!!  I asked for an excuse (told them I had impaired vision and no reasonable means of transportation to LA).  They must just be desperate!!!   So I didn’t bother to call in last nite.  They said I would hear from them within 30 days!!!  Whatever…..I should be about aged out for this nonsense!  And they never keep me because they don’t like how I answer the questions!!!  LOL

Vmmm:   CONGRATS to the Robotics team and also to Li’l Bit for her win!!  VERY COOL!!  What talented kids you have!!!

well, hubby is going to be looking for supper soon so I had better say “adios”!  Missing all of you!!

(((HUGS)))

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. HI Jet, so nice to see a post from you.  AGT extream is over so we usually just chat on Wednesday.  Wow, you have been busy.  First off, let me send condolences to your hubby/family on the death of his cousin.  (hugs)

Sorry to hear that you are having tech problems.  Yes, they are the worst and very frustrating.  I hope that you find a way to get it all sorted out.  Speaking of another mess, UGH, Jury Summons, hopefully, your excuse will be good enough and you will not have to Drive in to LA.  I bet they would make you wear a mask the whole time you are there.  You will have to keep us posted in that regarded. lol

I didn't know that you might someday be a candidate for Corna surgery.  That does sound scary, so hopefully, the Dr can still correct some of the issues so that can be put off, or not happen at all. lol  It still sounds so strange that you wear two contacts on one eye, but I am so glad that you have a Dr that will go the "strange route". lol  Here, I doubt they would as I have never heard anyone quite like you with two contacts.   Told you, you were Special. LOL!!!!

Well, there is really not much to say, just saw your post and thought I would pop in for a bit.  Hope you see you Wednesday, even if it is briefly.  HUGS!!!!

Hi, Luv….and *hi* to all our sisters!

Thanks so much for your empathy!!  So far they haven’t come for me for not showing up for jury duty this past Monday!!  When you are over 70 you don’t need a doctor to sign off on your reason for an excuse (at 75 I think
…hope!…they take you off the list forever!!).  They are supposed to give me a written response within 30 days but the most odd thing was that I only got the summons 2 weeks prior to the report date!!  I didn’t plan to go to LA anyway.  It is horrible down there now…and I don’t trust that a vehicle would be safe even in their parking lot.  Besides, there are plenty of courts closer to us—and at this stage of the game, jury duty is suspect because we have one of those Soros funded District Atourneys who doesn’t believe in sentencing pretty much anyone, so it would be a waste of my time….and all other jurists’!!  Anyway—enough on all that!

Yes, I feel very blessed to have finally found the eye doc I have now….after too many years of wandering around searching!!  He is a pretty amazing man…and I think he kinda (without saying it!) probably plans to maybe use some of my eye pictures at professional gatherings.  He is just so stymied!!!  LOL. Pretty funny….but soooo grateful for his curiosity and the time he takes with me.  I think my new lenses may improve my vision, even though it is not bad.  At least the condition is “stable”.  So we are doing something right!  The soft lens on the one eye is only to basically even out the cornea by providing a uniform surface and buffer for the hard one to sit on—to prevent further scarring.  I do notice some correction when I put the soft one on, but it’s the hard one that really does the job.

On the GREAT NEWS side of things….I FINALLY got my email back on the iPad!!!!  YIP YIP YAHOO!!!  Next I’ll see if I can reactivate it on the phone as well!!!  I hate having to drag out the laptop to do email.  So much easier and more friendly on the Apple devices!  So with a bit of LUCK 🤞, I will be able to be more in touch now!!

Our quilt class is on hiatus for 2 weeks.  Really missing it, even though I have plenty of things to do!!  Making a quilt for a couple who is getting married in mid-May.  Need to finish the top (just outer border)…so hopefully when we go back to class I can put the whole thing together.  Waiting for the backing fabric to arrive.

I’m also in charge (HA!) of the bridal shower!!  Calling in all the resources I can find!!!  My niece is a wedding planner so she is helping me with the table food (mid-afternoon event) and games.  I managed to get someone else to make the chair covers from a huge box of them that someone donated.  We can make 2 from each of them.  Just altering them to fit lower backed chairs.  The same gal is also doing the table flowers.  So we should be pretty good to go.  I’m writing out the invitations so they can be mailed early next week.  Event is April 23.  We had to make it after Easter because it is at the church and there are too many Lenten conflicts.  Just hope everyone has fun!

Weather is warming up here but temps are up and down.  Not too hot for too long.  Pray for Ukraine!  They are trying valiantly to survive.

Well, this will knock me out of watching live as I do not have cable.  HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO US?  I am so afraid that this also means that the sisterhood is going to fall by the wayside too.  Very sad to see this.
