Yeah….just talked to him…(.lol….he said he remembered to call before 8 ….LOL)…..he said it’s bad down there
The pictures that they show are so unbelievable it is just so hard to imagine the damage.
Sanibel and Captiva got it really bad…..it’s sad ….I’ve been to Sanibel a few times and it’s a really naturally beautiful place
I don’t think people realize that the coast line and areas that were hit so hard will forever be changed. We had something happen here a very long time ago that a hurricane damaged the coast in Norfolk and made an area that we call Willoughby Spit now.

This is his 10th hurricane deployment….around our area it’s looking a lot betterDid you have any flooding in your house?
Not in our house….a little in our yard but not bad….but the big lake behind us is still over it’s banks and way up on the sea wall
And to think you guys are prepared for these things!! We would be in deep doo-doo here just with heavy rainfall for a while! Back in the mid-90’s we got 36” of rain one winter. Streets were flooded but most of it ran out into the ocean. We don’t have storm drains!!

That’s nice! I do miss the color and for a while at least the cool fall weather. We don’t get much but cooler summer here usually!!

Cek are you feeling more back to normal yet???
April I am better than I was but I am not back to myself yet. I still get really tired but it isn’t every day and it will hit me all of a sudden. My doctor told me that is normal. I am having a bit of trouble with my hair falling out too. That just started and not sure if it is from the COVID or my anxiety. If it is anxiety I will be bald soon…LOLYes…hair loss is part of covid “fall out”! Pardon the pun!! Have a friend who is having the same issue and she has been receovered for quite a long time.
I think that is what is so scary about COVID the lasting effects are what you never know about. My SIL still doesn’t have his smell back to normal. I was having irregular heart beats and went to my doctor and had an EKG and blood work but they were ok but he is keeping a watch on it as I have a leaky value I know about .

I was just going to ask you about your hubby April. I know they are exhausted down there.
Yeah….just talked to him…(.lol….he said he remembered to call before 8 ….LOL)…..he said it’s bad down thereI think we just can’t conceive how vast and devastating it must be when you look at the area in person. God bless him for doing the work he and his crew do.
Yeah it’s a lot….and they have to stay in campers because most buildings have damage….but at least the state got them campers and they didn’t have to stay in tents like they thought

I heard them saying even before Ian arrived that they expected it to change the coastline of FL forever in that area. They were right!
