D2 and I knew a girl on the 2020 team that just missed qualifying as a team. But she got to go for duet. (She is not the one who passed out--that was her duet partner.) D2 used to compete against her. There is a girl on this team who is from our region, too, but she is a couple years younger than D2. I remember her name (Ruby Remati), but we didn't know her like we knew Lindi.
That is so cool. I think it would be so neat to know someone or have a group you know of go to the Olympics. I love watching the Olympics. Wish they would show more of the sports instead of just a few.
Has anyone seen the movie “The Boys in the Boat?” I havne’ seen the movie but I read the book, which was FABULOUS! Very well researched and an amazing story about a random team of rowers at University of Washington who had never been to even the east coast when they tried out for the team….and they managed to beat the German team in an amazing race….and won the gold medal in 1936. I didn’t run out to see the movie because I heard they didn’t really tell all the interesting stuff that went on prior to the Olympics. I highly recommend the book….and I might see the movie on TV!!
I haven't seen it, but it is the type of movie that I would enjoy. I hope it comes to Amazon Prime.

One of our nieces has POTS!!! I never have quite understood it but she has had a terrible time with it. She is doing better overall now (she is 59) but after she got the diagnosis (following many, many inadequate and incorrect diagnoses) she went to MAYO in Phoenix and they made the diagnosis almost instantly!! She has had quite a struggle with staying well; doesn’t help she is a flight attendant, but she has not been able to work much for some years. Now she has it figured out hos she can just bid a turnaround trip to Portland 8 times a month, which helps with some of the stress triggers. She is home at 10:30PM.
I am so sorry that Star is struggling with that. It is pretty unpredictable. But there are some places where you can get help. If you would like, I can get info from my niece that may be helpful.
Jet, I missed this post in all of the chaos. Thankfully Star pushed hard for a diagnosis. Now it is a matter of managing it. None of her doctors seem very well-versed in it. Yes, any info you can get from your niece would be helpful. Thank you!
