How long will his hernia keep him "recovering"? Will he be in the hospital for a few days? I ask, because CEK knee surgery, she was just kept overnight. Kind of crazy, I think. lol
Yeah he’ll be there a few days then out of work taking it easy for 6 to 8 weeks
Nurse April to the rescue. lol Seriously though, that sounds like it is pretty intensive. Is it close to his spine or spinal cord?

Oh no, that doesn't sound good. I know what a hernia is but have no idea what exactly a lumbar hernia is. Is it in the belly or legs? Sending him hugs and prayers.
No a lumbar hernia is in the back….it’s really rare according to the dr….he’s going to have to do the surgery inpatient….then he has to take it easy for 6 to 8 weeks….I was just reading about it. I had no idea that you could even get a hernia in the back, so I guess that is why they say it is rare. lol It kind of sounded a bit scary. HUGS!!!! Glad that he will be an inpatient. Hopefully, he will not have too much pain or anything. I bet sleeping will be an issue.....UGH......keep me posted.....I will be praying for him.

Thank you….I’ll let you know when we have a surgery date….he’s already saying “I heal fast so I’ll probably be good to go back to work in a couple weeks” so I think taking it easy is going to be the hard part for him

Not his spine but close to the nerves that go from your spine around toward your front …..we thought it was just a pulled muscle at first

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, they say having a good attitude and outlook is half the battle and DOES make you heal faster. lol Still, you may have to "get on him" to rest and take it easy. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No it’s not in his discs ….they go in …close the muscle…put a mesh over it then close him up….just has to be a full incision because of the size and location of the hernia

Is it pretty big? Can you see or feel it from the outside? I know that some "hernia bulges" can be seen, others need a sonagram or something to see.
