Yep...they did....it was a for donations thing no set price and it seemed to work out really well....our community is really good about supporting the kids when they do fundraisers like this
We publicized those as "free" car washes and most people gave more than the coupla bucks we would have asked for. Sometimes they gave 20 bucks--and that was in the '90's when that was a lot more than it is now!! It was always fun--and wet--and a lot of hard work....but that's what adds cohesion to the group and develops relationships--the things the kids remember all their lives.yeah i think they do better when it's for donations because like you said some people give more...and we had a couple of people who just donated and didn't want their cars washed....and yeah lots of good memories
...this is our first year with marching band but before they got into the music dept
they were very involved in Tae Kwon Do for a loooong time....and they still remember all those days of fund raisers and black belt camps and traveling for tournaments...some of the kids in band with my daughter were also in Tae Kwon Do with them...so it's great because they share all those memories
Very awesome! The best years are now really because you can relate to them almost as adults--and have coherent conversations on the issues of life and they understand. They will always remember and value these relationships as they move on in life.

LOL...awe man you don't want on of these suits....
Sad but I remember the style....OH MY!!!
I met a young woman in the 1980s who said that her husband got rid of his lime green leisure suit by giving it to his uncle, and the uncle started wearing it to church every Sunday! We had a big laugh over that.
That is hilarious, Annie!!! LOL

Friends???
Well--today the song said he didn't want (or mean?) to fall in love--but maybe he now recognizes what that is and how it feels--and that it ain't going away by just wishin'!!! Did it really take this long for him to figure it out???Humm, maybe he didn't trust his feelings for Meryl? or really understand them. He knew he loved her.......but what kind of love? He did have a "relationship" with Erin after her season. Maybe, he was afraid that it was a "summer romance" ? I know that he never wants to hurt Meryl in anyway, so maybe, he was taking his time to really figure out what he wanted? Jet, you sure posed a good question.
do you remember in the interview with Tony he said something like they were almost afraid to ruin what they have....maybe it's partly been a fear of losing each other if they went there and it didn't work....but maybe now they're finding themselves more willing to take that risk

So yesterday we had Meryl tweet the perfume ad--"love at first sight"; then we had Maks at the rabbi getting balance between his emotions and his intellect (which sometimes we question!! LOL). Today we have a song that talks about not wanting to fall in love and a tweet of flowers from Meryl with a note about keeping the sunshine in front of you so shadows will always be at your back.
Do we think that any of this indicates they will give us a crumb or two about being together this week coming??![]()

LOL...well if ALL of those are a coincidence, that is alot of them....what are the chances of that????
Tomorrow and Monday should tell something--depending on SM activity. I'm not looking for much, are you?! Let's hope they are doing whatever else seems appropriate--or not as the case may be!! LOL![]()

I think you are right, Luv; I think they both may have kinda taken a break to figure out what was lastingly "real" and what might have been a showmance of sorts. He wasn't long with Erin, tho--and never had anything close with her to what he has/had with Meryl. I know he recognized that as well based on what he has said. I'm sure his head has been swimming....and that's a good thing, really. I know he won't want to get into another engagement that might fall apart. That would be too hurtful and cause him to distrust himself. So these months that have seemed like years (!) LOL.....have been very important, I"m sure. We are just impatient!!!LOL. That we are.
However, I really believe that if their "relationship" is going to last, it is good for them to take things slow. They have already had a lot to deal with in such a short amount of time. Rumors, distance, schedules., break ups (fed-ex).....ect. I think it is wise to "get your head on straight" so to speak before heading into something that must have been a shock to them. It was a whirlwind couple of months with feelings so strong that they even came across the TV.....lol. Finding out what those feelings really were (for them) may have taken some time..........even if the whole world could see it. LOL
Nicholas Sparks should know about M&M; he could write a doozy of a novel!!!!!!!
