Looks like they performed there, so that is why they went together. Maks and Karina has a great friendship after Burn the Floor. HE has said, if I’m not mistaken, that she helped him appreciate dancing again during Burn the Floor.

WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS
People change and the dynamics of any relationship are constantly changing.   A few years ago, Meryl was rumored to be dating Fedor and Mak’s was engaged to Karina.  Today, we hope, that Mak’s and Meryl are in love with each other.  We do not know what the future holds.  But, we do know that both Meryl and Maks are strong and resilient.  They are fighters.  If this relationship exists, you can bet that they are going to be in it for the long haul.  What does this mean?  It means that they are giving each other the room they need to discover the paths their lives will take as individuals.  The two people closest to them have verified this in interviews.  Val has stated that Mak’s is ready to move on from his current life path into something totally new.  Cheryl said that Meryl is transitioning into life after skating and that Meryl wishes to graduate from U of Mich.  In fact, both Meryl and Maks have stated this.  Mak’s and Meryl are wise to take the time they need to discover their new lives.A good wine is meant to be sipped, savored, and enjoyed.
