Could she have appealed to the Maks who perhaps felt guilty about the way he "dumped" her two years ago? Did she make him feel the way he did when they first dated? If so, I hope they stay together just long enough for him to realize why they broke up the first time, and they break up again. Please, someone, tell me I am mistaken about the time they spent together, starting with Camelback Mountain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

I don't pretend to understand the way Maks thinks or how he conducts his life but as there seems to be some interest in peta hereabouts, I have to say that if this becomes a Maks/Peta board, I'm gone, Aloha on the steel guitar!  Done, finito!  I don't care for Peta and let's face it, I only cared for Maks because of what I saw between he and Meryl. Just saying... 

I'm in complete agreement with East here.  I don't mean to offend anyone on this board and I'm sure East doesn't either, but I have no interest in seeing pics of Peta with Maks, nor discussing what the two of them are up to, if it turns out that they are together.  Just being honest, that's all.

Annie, here's my theory on that St.Maarten trip:  Joslin Seeds posted a picture of herself with Maks, Peta, Henri, and Artem having dinner at a restaurant.  I think it was probably at this meeting that Joslin invited Henri, Artem, and probably Peta to spend the holidays with her family, which Henri and Artem ended up doing.  I think they were unable to go home for the holidays because of commitments they had here in the states, and probably had nowhere else to go, hence the invitation from Joslin.  Peta probably opted to go on the island trip because her good friend, Nicole invited her.  It's worth noting that Peta, Sharna, Henri, and Artem all spent Thanksgiving Day in LA with the Fratelli family.  Again, I believe it's because they were unable or didn't want to go home, had nowhere else to go for the holidays, so the Fratelli's invited them to have a turkey dinner with them.
 

I'm with you until the Nicole part, didn't Nicole just get engaged (and weren't Maks and Peta at that party) just prior to the holidays? Ok, so let's say that I just got engaged, of course my first thought is going to be to invite peta with us on our vacation as a newly engaged couple...doesn't add up to me.   Too many coincidences.  I hope this is Booky I am responding to, I can never really tell. 

 
Since I guess I kinda started this (!!), I will weigh in.  Please correct me where I'm wrong.

Nicole and Peta are apparently "best friends".  I recall a tweet of the two of them in which that was stated. I think Peta posted it near the time of Nicole's engagement.  She and "Mr. Garner" got engaged right around Christmas, if I recall, and Maks and Peta went to the party.  That doesn't, in itself, mean anything.  They are all "fam."  The trip that I believe you are referring to was the company holiday trip to St. Maarten's that was put together and sponsored in some way by DWMUSA.  It was quite a large group and included employees....probably on the order of a bonus or perk for all of them.  Peta and Nicole are involved with DWM in some capacity so it would not be unusual for them to be invited and included.  Does that mean there is something romantic going on with any of them?  Who knows?!  I surely don't.  I understand that there is the presumption of guilt until proven innocent, but......we don't know enough from a few strategically posted photos to draw a firm conclusion.  Just as with MnM, we are making all sorts of suppositions.

I always find myself standing back for a few days or a week after we get panko or crumbs to consider the entire spectrum of comments, information, etc.--to let my brain process the sm crumbs and develop a context for all of it.  While MnM have denied they are in a relationship, we have seen a preponderance of  evidence that they may well be.  We still don't know if they are for sure anymore than we know if there might be someone else Peta is interested in!  What we have seen over the course of close to a year between MnM is far more substantive than anything we have seen between Maks and Peta over that same time.  I think it is important to realize that--and to sit back and take the sum total of all the evidence into consideration rather than limit it to the most recent photos or drivel that comes from hither and yon. 

Not trying to offend or upset anyone.  Just hoping that we will be patient and try not to jump to immediate conclusions without firm evidence in either direction.

Everything you said makes sense, Jet.  Peta will probably be Nicole's maid of honor or a bridesmaid so it makes sense that she would be invited to the engagement party.  And I do recall reading somewhere that Peta had some involvement in helping Maks open the DWM studio in New York during the time they were dating, I believe.  I also think that Maks' denials that he and Meryl are dating mean squat, because he said the same thing about Peta and Kate Upton.  As you and Tango have stated, you have to look at the preponderance of the evidence.
