Hi, east! See you're still battling insomnia..
I also thought a day or two about your young-ish friend battling, was it breast cancer? Any news on that. We have a relative who has been in a "trial" and the imuno treatment for his melanoma seems to be working. Never thought he'd still be with us, let alone feeling and functioning so well a year later! But now the treatment itself is having some side effects and he has to stop for a while.
Some great treatments (though expensive) on the horizon it seems.

Yeah it's amazing how the price goes up around Valentines day and here we need to have a toast for Mama C's birthdayThose look great! Last night at church, wine was served afterward, but I had to drive home, so I did not partake.
No, it wasn't for the eucharist, it was just because.....We had a guest speaker from out of state, so it was kind of like those Southern Baptist revivals I used to go to in the summer when Mother and I were visiting my grandparents ALL summer. But if he had been a Baptist, there would have been nary a drop of wine anywhere.
Awww.... sounds like you had a good time at church last night that's awesome did you like the guest speaker????
He was here for three nights, but I only went to the 2nd one. His message was great, but he talked a LONG time. On my way to my car afterward, I heard someone saying, "He rambled on forever". The basic message was that we can all be saints in our own way. He talked about Mother Theresa and others.

I'm going to provide you with this link to Keo's Instagram page...he does a lot more posting of pictures that he does actual tweeting of pictures. Interesting - I had not seen some of them.

Hi View,
Had lunch with my daughter and her friend yesterday. She had just gotten back from rehab and having her hair washed and blown dry (as she can't do it herself). She is mending physically but not emotionally. A couple of weeks after the operation, her doctor called to tell her that there had been a misdiagnosis and that she didn't have any cancer in the tumor they removed after all. They had apparently got all the cancer when they took the bioposy. So, bottom line, she had a double mastectomy for nothing!
So, now her life consists of trying to recover and interviewing lawyers. Also, her insurance company called to say that seeings how there was no cancer, this was not a necessary operation and they aren't paying any of the medical bills. I can't tell you how badly I feel for her.
She is just getting some preliminary information on suing in the state of VA and guess what? The cap is 2 million which may sound like a lot of money but remember the lawyer gets a third and the rest is taxable so what does that really leave her? Plus, her insurance company won't pay her bills. And she has to reconcile herself to the idea that she lost 2 important body parts due to someone's mistake. OYE!!

different author today
Music I heard With You (or Discordants) by Conrad Potter Aiken
Music I heard with you was more than music,
And bread I broke with you was more than bread.
Now that I am without you, all is desolate,
All that was once so beautiful is dead.
You hands once touched this table and this silver,
And I have seen your fingers hold this glass.
These things do not remember you, beloved,
And yet your touch upon them will not pass.
For it was in my heart that you moved among them,
And blessed them with your hands and with your eyes;
And in my heart they will remember always,
They knew you once, Oh beautiful and wise.
(p.s. Hugh Franklin, the actor, pulled a book from a shelf and read the first two lines of this poem to the author, Madeleine L'Engle. And then he said, "Madeleine, will you marry me?" This, after returning from a summer tour of The Cherry Orchard, during which time Madeleine never heard from him but was being pursued by someone else that Hugh knew about.)

Good morning, Sisters! Hope all is well with everyone.
We have Santa Ana winds today (as well as yesterday) and temps in the mid-80s again today!! Supposed to be 90 tomorrow. Where is winter??!!! We need RAIN!!! Won't get much after this month even in the best of years.
I see we celebrated MamaC's birthday with drinks and a cake. YEA!!! Hope she had a memorable celebration with family and friends--wherever she was in RL. Nice that she was able to get a greeting and birthday hug from Val...even if she had to make her way to the studio to do so! She is a trooper!! It's pretty easy to get around on the subway tho, so that's a plus.
