I Haven't Learned
I have learned about philosophy,
And about meditating alone
Under a cloudless sky.
I have learned about metals and stones,
And what makes them shine.
I have learned about the intricacies
Of tasting and decanting wine.
I have learned about mythological figures,
And how they fought with pride.
I have learned about the eagle,
And how it soars alone so high.
I have learned about energy,
And how it can't be destroyed
But can change form over time.
I have learned about wisdom
From Solomon's proverbs
And about soft brush strokes
From impressionist paintings.
I have learned plenty
About worldly pleasures
And diving into dark oceans,
But I still haven't learned
How to act when I see you.
How to stop the adrenaline rush
I feel when I breathe you.
How to calm my heart
When I hear you
And how to bury my frustration
Of the impossibility of once again being with you.
~Mirtha Marmol~
Those last eight lines give me the feels, as the tumblrs would say.
They DO affect one's emotions, don't they?

[quote888]This was submitted to me by an anon, such a fun coincidence.
I sent Karla an ask earlier today about screenshots of Meryl & Maks’ IG profiles and thought I’d send these to you.
I just laughed when I went to their profiles that when you look at the past 6 pics on Maks’ it’s a pic of Meryl & him and underneath with a cute little girl then on Meryl’s it’s a cute pic of her with baby Una and underneath is a pic of Maks and her! Same number of pics spaced out and everything!
I just thought it was one of those cute coincidences[/quote888]

I am just beside myself in amazement...the Oscars are honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Sound of Music (and you all know who my favorite actress in the whole world is...Julie Andrews). Well Lady Gaga just sang the songs from the movie...OMG she actually was really really good...and the guess who came out on stage....Julie herself...I am just over joyed.....
If you didn't see it you should it was great!!!

Hands down my favorite part of the entire night. Lady Gaga was outstanding. Loved it. I think. She choked up a little when Julie Andrews came out. Excellent.

I did see it, and it was great. She looked beautiful and was wearing a gorgeous dress - a refreshing change from her usual goofy costumes. I've always thought she is a great singer.
