Dancing With The Stars officially runs out of stars

After 19 seasons of hobbling faded celebrities through forcing them to perform complicated dance moves, then feeding them into the abattoir to make mediocre glue, Dancing With The Stars has announced that it has finally run out of stars. The ABC reality series revealed the cast for its 20th season this morning, a day that marked the first time in decades that Patti LaBelle and Suzanne Somers were considered “big gets.” The rest of the list is filled out with various athletes and Olympians, a model known for a single Carl’s Jr. ad, and Bruce Willis’ daughter. There is also the obnoxious guy from now-defunct party band LMFAO. No, the other one.

Here is the complete cast list, interspersed with some people we just made up. See if you can spot which ones! You can’t.

Noah Galloway: a double-amputee Iraqi War vet.

Robert Herjavec: a Canadian entrepreneur and Shark Tank judge.

Chet Clappington: inventor of that novelty hat with the hands where you pull on the string and they clap.

Patti LaBelle: Patti LaBelle.

Nastia Liukin: Olympic gymnast.

June Barnes: A crazy woman who straight-up lied to producers about playing the mom on Growing Pains and no one bothered to check.

Riker Lynch: singer in the band R5; also, one of five people who know the band R5.

Charlotte McKinney: girl in the Carl’s Jr. commercial—you know, the one with the girl wearing a bikini and eating a burger?

Michael Sam: first publicly gay player to be drafted by the NFL; first publicly gay player to be forced to go on Dancing With The Stars because he has nothing but downtime right now.

Sgt. Slaughter: The wrestler you wish were on this show; oh man, that would be awesome.

Willow Shields: played Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games, a character who is specifically there to not do anything.

Suzanne Somers: promoter of insane medical theories, occasional actress, master of thighs.

Rumer Willis: daughter of actual stars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, which is close enough.

Potato Salad: The potato salad from that potato salad Kickstarter.

Redfoo: the crazy afro guy in LMFAO, that crappy band with the crazy afro guy.

Pamela From Your Work: Go Pamela!

Having officially exhausted the concept of “stardom,” Dancing With The Stars is already looking forward to its 21st season, when it will cull 12 random people from the streets and have them compete over standing very still.

Just found it amusing!!!!!!! Lack of further story lines--aka loss of viewers--is generally what causes shows to finish their run!!!!

This is hysterical!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Ha ha! I have kids who watch DC, so I know who R5 is. Ryker is way less famous than his brother Ross, though. I forgot that they are Hough cousins. Should be interesting.

LOL, vmom....when they have to start in with the cousins and children of stars, they must be scraping the bottom of the barrel!!!!  LOL

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Re: The Perfect Ten! And Twentieth Season of DWTS

Just a quick pop in to see whats up before supper.......and what do I find?  Carrie !!!! lol

I actually liked Derek until season 18, then it was just MnM for me. lol (and I could begin to see some repeated steps/over use of props and such which continued through season 19)  I am surprised that he is back this season as it was said all over the place that he would not. He is good, I give him that, but was kind of looking forward to a break from him.   I like Nastia, so if she is good, I have no problems. lol  I am not going to pick a favorite until I see them dance for a few weeks.  Who knows who will catch my eye. lol

Yay....it's here :o) sooooooo excited for the new season to start :o) wahooo!!!!!

So I'm a bit bummed still no ultimate man crush monday Matt Bomer (maybe next season?) and my dream of seeing Tara Lipinski AND Johnny Weir still hasn't happened.....but needless to say I am PUMPED UP!!!!!

I hope I don't get heck on the board for this but I will be rooting for Nastia and Derek.  I have been hoping for Nastia to be on the show for a while so I will be rooting for her unless someone else catches my eye.  I didn't know Derek was coming back.  Maybe Nastia said the only way she'd do dancing is if she could be partnered with Derek....you never know.

So Whitney is the last person to be paired up and is rumored to be with Chris Soules??  I am not a fan of his so I will not be voting for him.

Hi Carrie!!!!  I'm so excited for this season too   I thing Tony and Suzanne could be a good couple and I like Nastia too......I think one of my fav's is going to be Emma and Red Foo.....I like Val and Rumor ....LOL......well I like several of them this season........but I really wish we'd have gotten Johnny too....LOL

April - Johnny and Tara next season for sure.....I'll have to tweet to DWTS and work on it.  I'm still working on getting Derek Jeter and Roy Halladay.

Was Red Foo a guest judge last season or Meryl's season?  He looks familar.

Awwww.....that is great, Booky!  I am always partial to the vets so I also hope he will do well with Sharna.  Forgot the name of the vet who won it some seasons back.....I almost have his name in my brain.  Mom was Chinese/Thai/Korean (?), Dad left them, he never considered himself disabled.  Rodriguez, Martinez, Fernandez...I think his last name ended in "ez".  I loved that guy!  He had such class--and last thing I saw about him he had gone on to do well for himself.  Maybe a motivational speaker or something along those lines?

I have a lot of respect for Amy as well.  She did an amazing job---and she's had a lot of work after dwts too.  Did you see her as the Pace Car Driver at Daytona on Sunday??

LOL.....Hi ,......I thought the mirror ball would be good for today    .....LOL.......with all the DWTS stuff today......and OMG!!!!!  I have E News on and they just said that with so many big names leaving they are pretty sure they couldn't afford to loose Derek so had to pony up and give him what he wanted to stay......WOW......I wonder if that's true??????  because if not that's really bad for them to say and could cause unfair backlash on Derek and Nastia.........

Me too.  I hope he is good.  I am worried though about his foot work.  Amy had her knees, but he was amputated above the knee on his leg.  To me, that may be harder...I don't know.  Also, with only one arm, Sharna is going to have to choro moves that don't have "hand" grabs unless it is with his other arm.  I KNOW she can do it and I hope that they go far in the season.

Hi, April....Hi, Carrie!!!

Oh....very interesting E News.....I really wondered why they brought him back.  So does "giving him what he wanted" mean they gave him what they considered was a winning partner??!!!!  It would appear so....but then we know that the best dancer doesn't always win!! Olympians, tho, are a cut above other contestants with their work ethic and competition experience.

The drama continues!!!
