She isn't filming in NYC until next week. No reason to go there on Saturday, is there?

And Alex has flown back to NY. He and Serge just tweeted this evening that they are celebrity judges at a Habitat for Humanity event. (Looking real handsome, both of them in their suits and ties!!)
So Val is on his own...in Chicago...with Rumer, Payson and the rest of the crew of FTR. I don't know if he has friends, relatives etc. there. Won't be too much time for dance rehearsal as there are performances at 2: and at 8: on Saturday. And the same on Sunday. From his original tweet, I think they fly back to LA on the 10th.

Saturday Janel arrived in Chicago, ate pizza, went to the FTR show in the evening, and celebrated her “best friend’s” birthday. Payson’s parents were in town also, it seems, from his tweeted picture. They must be o.k. with their relationship, or they are on a more casual basis perhaps than they were pre-DWTS.
I didn’t see any sign of Rumer among the performers celebrating the birthday…but then she’s Team Valenrue first and foremost now, and was with him I’m sure.
Today Janel went sightseeing (the ubiquitous Chicago Bean photo)
Val watched the Spurs and the Bulls today during the FTR 2:00 performance. He had an hour long Q and A twitter session with fans today. Saw Meryl 
in Chicago...with her cousin !!
Sooo.
In the same place, same time….yet I wouldn’t be surprised if they did not see each other. They certainly could have. For all we know there was interaction, but there has been no mention of it. No pictures documenting it. Either the hurt and embarrassment are too fresh yet. Or Janel just wants to put the whole thing behind her and leave it there. Or she feels any public acknowledgement of contact would start up the SM mess again. Because there is still tons of meanness directed at her, and esp. Payson, and occasionally at Val for the messy, messy way things played out.
I’m ready to turn to the new Season. No shipping allowed remember. And if some happy and mature behavior between J and V comes to my attention, I’ll pass it on to you.

I remember that Val tweeted the lyrics to the same song...weeks, if not months, ago. Jhene Aiko. Just a line or two...intriguing to me at the time, and I drew the connection to Janel, but I wasn't familiar with the song or artist. When Janel tweeted about the album and that particular song on her way to the islands, and I listened to the whole thing, it made Val's tweet...smh. I think his tweet was simply "like the world would have ended...If either of us had admitted.."

I was reading some of the teen twitter chatter from last night. 5 or 6 janelskiy fans who tweet among themselves, but of course visible to anyone, not private messages.
The ones I saw are of the opinion - and I can't say that I disagree - that if they're not going to be together, then they need to be truly apart. "Date or Die" is their term for the relationship choice. "Not ever like Maksyl...just friends!!" "If I want to follow a platonic friendship, I'll watch X files"
And maybe that's what's up. We want polite friendship, but when passions have been that raw and exposed, it may not happen, or if it does, it will take a long time and need to happen slowly, organically...

Is this just leftover habit....from the months when they were partners and more? They are often on sm within seconds of each other.
Up until the introduction to his new partner (and I don't know if it continues now) it seemed to be known by some that Val still occasionally texted her, sent selfies.
