The grandson shopping for a suit to wear on a cruise and for Easter. First pair of dress slacks that need alterations.  Not a fan of his growing up so fast. Where is my BABY?

What a cutie. Reminds me of a story a few years ago in the Dallas Morning News, "I miss my little boy".

He was here for dinner tonight and I am constatnly amazed at the subtle little changes in him, we had several conversations at dinner about life in general and life as seen through his 10 year old eyes.  Very interesting.

Awww.....that is so sweet  it's always amazing to me to see life through the eyes of a child

I love talking with my grandchildren about life issues because I think they need a different perspective even though their parents do a great job. We are at a different point in life and our lens is tweaked a bit differently so it is good for them to hear that also. I can hear my DIL sometimes in what the kids say....so if I don't agree, I take a different angle on the issue and suggest perhaps why this or that happened or didn't, as the case may be. Kids always tell you what is going on around them...they are honest and truthful....if adults are smart enough to listen!!

We have a few adult "children" living with their parents in our neighborhood and seeing their issues and problems from having enabling mamas is such a stark reality in our world today.

I hear that Jet, the last thing these kids need is enabling parents.  They have so much more than we did or even our kids did that balance is crucial to their emotional well being.  He was helping me in the kitchen and loving it.  He stirred sauce, stirred the macaroni while it was cooking, plated, used my good bread knife to slice the Italian bread (under my watchful eye of course) and poured our drinks for dinner (water and milk for the kids) and we chatted all through it.
The sooner he learns to be independent, the better.

OMG!!!!!  Meryl and Val together!!!!!  YAY!!!!  they look so happy   this is in Chicago right??????  I hope she gets him skating with her

HAHA!! Wonder how Maks feels!!!! LOL Considering how "not happy" they both were during switch up week....hmmmmm.......maybe that is what he was "pondering"!! I saw an interview in which he was asked if he would date someone his brother had dated and he said, "No....definitely not." Said it would be "weird". I wonder if that applies to Val too!!! LOL

I just asked about these pics and then found them. Love them! Haven't seen Val looking so happy in a while! I love that he loves Meryl.

I know, look at him looking at her.  Pure love and adoration that he has for her.  I think Meryl thinks he is pretty special too.

Checkmate

You are my seduction,
Mixed with passion and kissed with desire.
My love for you will never be lost,
Only hidden within shadows.
I am not she,
She is not I,
Therefore, we both don't fit in.
Simply another story lived.
Destiny plays games,
But King and Queen in chess
Never together stay,
So a promenade I take
While on your throne you rest.
With your pawns, knights, and rooks you shall remain.
The Queen deserves an official reign.
No longer we shall mate,
Only reminisce in the memories the ocean raised.

 That's a good one, Annie!

Whom could we imagine it is talking about?

No kidding on the independence.  It is the enabler's needs that have to be met----rather than allowing the kids to become independent and fly out of the nest.  I sadly know too many whose children either never left home or left and came back to sponge off the parents.  Next door there are 3 adult children who have never left home!!!  The oldest is about 35...the other 2 have college degrees!!!  REALLY???  How des that happen??!!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Meryl
We fell in love, but our way. Maks
