I think she was in the Music Man too.I think it was a domestic in Mary Poppins.
The actress's name was Reta Shaw.
She was in The Pajama Game, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Pollyana, Bachelor in Paradise (Bob Hope), Annie Get Your Gun, Picnic, etc...and of course The Dick Van Dyke Show (possibly the best show ever on TV). She was well respected and made acting look so easy.

That's how it goes in the acting business. There are many actors who have done lots of movies, TV, etc. but very few people know who they are.

Yes, there were a lot of supporting actors that worked steadily for years and played many parts in many shows. The Rockford Files springs to mind, there are a bunch of supporting actors who appeared on his show that played a different role each time. Speaking of my beloved James Garner, I read in his book that the crew were treated so well by him and he so respected them that other crews from other shows kept hoping for an opening on The Rockford Files crew so they could get in. He fed them better than any other tv crew, knew all of their kids names and if there were problems with any of them, James was right there to help out. He celebrated birthdays and holidays with them. Quite a guy.

Not enough superlatives to accurately describe her.

Have these two ever met in person? I love that they have started talking and most likely because of Val!
