Love the photo, EC. Your daughter is gorgeous!

Here is a pic of my "tuxedo" dog (moose!)

His mama was a very light yellow Lab, daddy was a full blooded golden retriever. This guy is a complete throw-back to the St. John's water dog, precursor to the Labrador retriever, which sported tuxedo markings. Last one died in about 1979. Typical markings are white chest, nose, and on all 4 paws. Our dog also has a white arrowhead on the top of his shoulders. He is now 3-1/2 years old, 112 lbs., and the only tipoff that he is not 100% lab is that he has a "fringe" on the underside of his tail, which would have come through the golden daddy as labs have very short hair on their tails.

I read that tuxedo cats are 200% smarter than other cats! I wonder if the tuxedo dogs are too?

Re: The Perfect Ten! And Twentieth Season of DWTS

Do you guys know that Janel's in NYC filming all week for Mysteries of Laura?  She landed (from Chicago) and went straight to set...11 hours later she tweeted how tired she was.  But by the next day, her sister (military.. maybe West Point?) had come to New York and they had fun.  Went to If/Then on Broadway, and she has spent time with Jonathon (from Season 19)  She went to Les Mis which you remember she played the part of Little Cosette when she was 6 years old on Broadway.  She apparently had some new headshots done.

Anyway, I think the episode of Laura that she's in sound fun.  I'm gonna make a point of watching it. In May

Don't know about that because we've only ever had 1 cat that was all black; we called him BC for Black Cat!!  But I can tell you this dog is very smart!!  Almost too smart, if you know what I mean!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer.  What a beautiful dog.  How is his temperment?  I was attacked as a child by a neighbor's dog and consequently never got over my fear of dogs.  My sister had a cocker spaniel who bit my daughter on the lip so our history with dogs is not favorable.  However, my other sister had a cockapoo (sp?) named Kirby who I was really fond of surprisingly.  Very mild mannered but an unrelenting beggar for table food.

Just like Maks, he is "a big softie".  He is, however, due to his size, an imposing presence.  He loves children--just wants to play with them--but the problem is that the grandkids have taught him to respond to things like waving hands and then they don't like that he will want to play with them...and he just doesn't know his strength.  They are getting better about not doing that so as not to wind him up but, like all labs, he has a very soft mouth.  They just want to carry things in their mouths--and when you put your hand into it (I often have to fish straight pins or safety pins out of his mouth!), it is soooo soft compared with, for instance, a human mouth.  Just amazing really.

Re: The Perfect Ten! And Twentieth Season of DWTS

A portion from the Alyse Whitney Bustle article just posted...interview with Meryl and Charlie:

After Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy won Dancing With the Stars Season 18, there’s been one big question on everyone’s minds: Will they dance together again? They collaborated at his Dance With Me show SWAY: A Dance Trilogy in Long Island back in December — which I saw, and it was just as mind-blowing and incredible as their time on DWTS — but those two short performances seemed to be the end of it for now as she heads back to the ice with partner Charlie White. Thankfully, that’s not necessarily the case, as Davis told me at the opening of New York City’s flagship premium bed-topper store airweave on Wednesday night.

When I questioned whether she’d be back for SWAY’s NYC show in June, she smirked, stroking her chin jokingly. “No comment. No comment on that. I don’t know yet, so I can’t really say…” she teases with a smirk. But when pressed further, she says that hypothetically she’d be 100 percent on board. ”I would love to do it again. I definitely fell in love with dancing, especially through the course of Dancing With the Stars. So getting to dance with a professional dancer — a dancer like Maks — is such an amazing experience and I’d love to continue doing that,” she reveals. ”It’s something I definitely want to do.”

As for a triumphant DWTS return if they ever revive All-Stars? She’s not so certain — unless Maks would definitely be back. ”I don’t know. It would be a tough call for me. I had such an amazing run on the show with Maks and I don’t think that he — I mean, I shouldn’t speak for him — I don’t know that he would necessarily would do it again. I don’t know that I would really want to change partners,” she reasons. But what if it was a sequel to their fairy tale story, like Princess Diaries 2, I asked. (Maybe I was giving her and Maks the comparison of Mia and Nicholas, maybe it’s just the first thing that popped into my head.) ”Yes, I would do a Princess Diaries 2 for sure with him,” she says with a laugh.

Further on Charlie said he would definitely dance with Sharna on an All Stars show... YEA!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer.
