I believe all concerned have learned a lesson from last season.  



It is uncharacteristically quiet on all SM fronts.  Day after day.  Val, Rumer, Janel.  We'll see if that changes somewhat once the season gets underway.

But, for now, they do not want to open themselves up to controversy, argument...is my opinion.

Interesting that Team Valenrue will be dancing to one of Janel's most favorite (has tweeted about it) artists.  If any reading this do not always read the primary thread...here is their song for the Foxtrot tomorrow night: Take Me To Church by Hozier

Rumer has 'unfollowed' Janel.   ??

I'll edit this as I have done a little checking on my own...

Rumer now 'follows', in addition to all the new folks you would expect her to follow since she is on DWTS (that is the other stars, the pros ( including Peta)  all the judges, etc.)    BUT also Maksim, Sleepy, Meryl, Alexander... these are all people Janel unfollowed back in the days of removing Val from her life.

That's what the younger set is saying.  Rumer unfollowed Jane on Instagram and twitter.  It could be harmless I guess...it's not like good friends count solely on Social Media to communicate.  And here's something I just realized (not too savvy about it really):  

If I'm Rumer, let's say.  And I follow Janel, as I have for a long while.  Every time I check my...Time Line, I think it's called.  I will see her tweets, and I will also see all the crazy, mean things "fans" say to her in the replies.  They may also be saying highly insulting things about  me (Rumer) or Val or Payson (a mutual friend as well). Payson REALLY gets awful, insulting tweets.  I thing he just changed to a private account.

So that's one thing.  It may just be less stressful and easier to concentrate on the task at hand to un-follow.  They both posted quotes about kindness/hate today.  Janel's and Rumer's:



But it could also be immature, high-school caliber pettiness.  I thought this (below) was kind of odd.

When Janel tweeted the simple, kind of enthusiastic, sort of supportive message to Rumer that she was in good hands with @iamvalc. You kill 'em girl,  and that she would be voting (not for whom...not I'll be watching)  But anyway, give her an A for effort.

Nothing came back in return from Rumer on twitter for many days it seemed even though she was retweeting all kinds of congratulations that she'd received. And then it was just Thanks girl. Then later came this from Janel:



I have no idea if any of this is related or makes sense.  What I feel like is that it's messy.  Whereas I thought Janel would be thrilled to have Rumer as Val's partner instead of - oh, so many others, worse.  And whereas I though Rumer would be kind of a go between in civil communications.  None of that seems to be what's going on.  

Maybe now that Rumer and Val see that they have great stuff to work with in each other, and do want to go after the MBT with a vengeance, they don't want any distractions.  Be it hate from various shippers or anything else.

I will say this - Janel has started following Noah, Redfoo, Emma...so she must be watching the Season.

 

All business and Swag....Dance and Friendship.  I agree.  And that's the difference!

As Tony said, things get very messy-- -"that's what happens when there are Feelings!"  
And the feelings were real and they were deep. This was much more off stage (Alfonso) than we got to see hints of on stage.

And though I have thought the same about maturity levels...frankly now I see it quite different.  I think she's much more resolved, mature...maybe stubborn than I would be. And she does have many young girls who love her.  And her career to consider.  And her "follows"  have continued to go up...150,000 MORE than when she was on DWTS...to close to a million.

Once she said "I know now what's real", she never budged from that position, regardless of what others may have said - including Val, insistent fans, Alex, Maks, for Sway, or for the tour...(her t-shirt, Don't Bully)  

I have - and we fans have - tried to prolong it, change it, see it for more than it is because we loved them together.  But she has never wavered.
They were very in to each other.  For some reason a big difference of opinion of what that would look like after the Season came about. And there are clues that he felt she had "no time for him" when she got back to her theater life, and friends (including Payson)  and at the other end, there are clues that she expected more public acknowledgement of a relationship....I have no idea what the truth is and we never will.

She, to him, will never be what Zendaya is, what Sherri Shepherd is, what I think Rumer will become.  Or what Sadie is to Mark, what Meryl is to Maks.  How could she?   Why would she?   (In fact it was Val and Janel, ironically, that led me to believe back in October that there was nothing to Maksyl beyond an amazing friendship)

If she's happy, I'm happy.  If he can move on, let him. In my opinion she will never do an All Star Season with him, she will never attend a ValenRue performance of Season 20.  
She knows what's real now, and it isn't the glitter and mirrors of DWTS.
