I ended up staying home last night, too, CEK....for the dogs.  It was very late up here in the north before it was dark enough to do the city display of fireworks...+ it had rained in the evening also delaying it some.  

But I knew if we were all absent and the LOUD thunder was followed by booming fireworks the dogs (one, especially) would have been miserable and nervous.

With me in the same room, calming them, pooh-poohing it as nothing to be concerned about, they were pretty good.  The one did want to sit as close to me as she possibly could...they are not allowed on the furniture, so she was sort of between my legs and the chair.  : /

And it was worth it, because late into the wee hours, private displays were going on, and the dogs did not complain or beg to come into our bedroom.  

Btw, she was never like this when she was younger...she's 12 now.

The tour is all back together again now.  Rumer, Val, and Peta have re-joined for Vegas' second night.

It is so nice to hear from people who know how to treat their animals. Bless you for being aware that yours would be upset by loud noises. Many dogs are so terrified that they (obviously outside dogs) run away from home. Our animal shelters get filled everytime it is fireworks time!
 

Since Janel's new bf, Justin Altamura (of the Napa Valley Altamura wines family) is from there, it got me thinking about Hot Air Balloon rides.

Have any sisters ever done this activity?  Did you love it?

Here's where the soccer World Championship is being played.  I'll be watching...though have probably never watched an entire match in my life.
