Jet, Did you get those heavy rains that they talked about on the news?
Hey, Luv,
Still have grandchildren visiting so staying very busy, but have not forgotten about all you sisters....and miss you.
YES--AMAZINGLY we did get some reasonably heavy rains but not enough to wash out bridges or any of that as close to the coast as we are. No idea how much rain was recorded; I would guess no more than perhaps 1/4"!! Rather unspectacular here really.
We rarely get rain in the summer--only from hurricanes along the coast of Baja California. Daughter and SIL were in Santa Rosa (north of SF) over the weekend and they said it was really hot there!! No sign of rain, so it was only in the south.
Daughter's MIL who has the other granddaughter till Wed., when we switch, said she drove thru flooded streets to her house yesterday when she left from here late in the afternoon. We have poor to no storm drains because our average rainfall annually is about 12.5"!!!
No flash floods in the area but I understand a bridge near Palm Springs on I-10 collapsed due to the rains out there. That's a major traffic jam!!! LOL
Thanks for asking....

OH, WOW!! Did you see this in the Yamaguchi article???
"Yamaguchi will host along with “Dancing with the Stars” champion and renowned choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Maksim will be hosting for the first time and performing a dance routine with Meryl Davis."
Maks has a job!!! Or at least a gig!!!

gabriele, Kym tweeted this a couple of days ago when she arrived in Australia. Is it a biscuit you'd eat for breakfast? Put milk on it?
We've been out with some friends and family for a birthday hibachi event.
So nice to hear from you jetmama. And all you other sisters. Luv and CEK thanks for news. April...what to say? Let us know how things are going. Come here and cry and rant if you want to. We can take it.
Wonder how Cassidy is. eastcoast's leg sloooowly healing?

Before I leave for a few hours, here is a review of the Move touring show that the Houghs do. The reviews for it are mostly excellent. It does not interest me too much - even if they were appearing near enough to attend...because it's mostly the personalities/celebrities of the DWTS tour that would draw me.
But they are playing to huge sold-out crowds as well.
here's the actual link to the review:
Whoever attended this past Friday night to see Julianne and Derek had a beautiful night weather-wise. Low humidity and cooler temps made being outside a pleasure. I live about 20 minutes from Wolf Trap and it is a spectacular venue. I'm sure Julianne and Derek were fabulous

Yes, it is an Aussie icon. Well, supposedly.... since 1920. 'Weet Bix'.
Tastes like cardboard, really. People heap sugar on it or fruit.... It's like a little. light 'brick' made out of flakes, which get soggy as soon as you pour milk onto it. Not my cup of tea.
