Happy Hot and Humid Tuesday from VA with a "Heat Advisory" today as it will fell like 100+...
Update on my daughter is she will be on complete bed rest for another week...everything is looking good so far and they want her to hold on as long as possible. So we wait!!!
April hope you and your family are doing better today. I am sending you HUGS.
Well I will start my marathon of getting things ready for the plumber on Thursday...it is amazing how you just fit something like that into an already day filled with laundry, dishes, cooking and letting the dogs in and out and in and out...LOL
I have to agree with you, CEK
Just yesterday, as I was once more calling folks, confirming folks, confirming reservation, doing various other things to get ready for the Hibachi Birthday Thing last night....added to the other extras of this past week (up at 5:45a.m. to go roll pie crusts, etc) I decided I'm going to discipline myself to let others do things...or say no...more often.
We are now retired....we have a flooded house to finish the repair of, especially the exterior...(concrete for new, raised garage floor coming tomorrow) Just the daily duties that go along with wife, housewife, mother, grandmother, dog owner, homeowner..as well as the joys of such...take up enough time.
I will try. It's my own doing, you understand. I just need to allow some old habits to die with dignity. And yet, "if not me, who?"
CEK, you are soooo busy. And in a happy way, setting yourself up for a wonderful family vacation, leaving all tasks, chores, unfinished projects behind. When the time comes, just lock the door of the house and leave with a clear conscience and happy anticipation.
I can't believe your Disney trip is almost here. We have been looking forward to it with you for many months.

Booky said this about one of the "path" pictures.
My earliest memory is walking down a tree-lined path with my mother. Funny, the things that stick in your memory.
I have that too. It was after a 4th of July celebration at an aunt and uncle's farm. My mother comes from a large family and 7 including her, grew up and continued to live with their spouses and children in the area. There were plenty of women in the kitchen cleaning up after the meal, so the youngest and unmarried auntie took all of us cousins for a walk. There were 5 or 6 of us children. She was wonderfully versed in weeds and wildflowers, birds and their songs. And I remember especially the beautiful flower of a certain milkweed, and her showing us why it was called that.
The path picture below....minus the hills and evergreens in the background...triggers a memory of that walk down a dirt road.
