Hi, CEK. It's View.
I am the one who, with 11,000 of my townspeople
were flooded.
You can watch this little video from Brian Williams. If I have time later today, I will comment on it, when it happened, how many feet, some pictures I have...

I didn't know you were in this either. I remember this, it was terrible. So many lost their homes and/or were flooded out. Are they still rebuilding? We have had some minor flooded streets and major parking lots/malls this year, but never to this scale. I would hate to be in a flood. I remember when I was a child, my grandmothers farm flooded. Had to use a boat to get around. Terrible loss. Hope you didn't lose too much.

Aw, there’s no need to apologize. I may have mentioned it in passing, but by the time I found the abc Board in June of 2014, the flood was history…and the rebuilding and re-landscaping was about ½ done.
Problem is, - that is about as far as we got. My husband had finally retired so that he could continue where the professionals had left off…and do most of the basement repair himself.
But then health issues reared their ugly head in hubby… a cancer diagnosis, radiation/chemo, surgery and then the recovery from same.
But again, that was all before I joined you on the board. The flood was in June of 2011. I had just purchased the home (my deceased’s mother’s) by buying out my brother and sister’s ownership 6 months before!! And moved from my high and dry house in to what had been my mother’s.
We live in one of the older sections of town and right across the street from the Mouse River (by the way, it is only called the Souris River while it’s in Canada…becomes the Mouse when it crosses the border. French and English language for “mouse”) So we had a depth of 11 feet ! in our street. In our house, that translates to 8’ on the main floor which brought the water level up to the very ceiling.
Many folks are all done….all levels, inside and outside, yard beautiful as well. Many are like us. Done to the point you have a nice living space. But maybe yard, basement, or exterior paint job still necessary.
And some just walked away. Some have had nothing but the “mucking out” and gutting done to them. And in those cases, now 2 years after ultimatum, the city is stepping in.
I’ll try to show a couple of pictures some time.

I do, too. Maybe one of my earliest television in our own home memories (my friend up the street - her parents were the first to get a tv. a Sylvania with some kind of glow around the edge that was supposed to be easier on your eyes)
Does anyone remember "tv Lamps" that sat on the top of the tv. I think, again, it was supposed to help with eyestrain.
Here is the wikipedia article on Bob Kekeshan - Captain Kangaroo....

I copied a few things off of twitter that I can bring over.
First, here's an article about Rumer's sister's bare butt. Talulah. I went looking for it because Talulah tweeted that it was just a coincidence that the camera caught her adjusting a wedgie, not that she saw the papparazzi and lifted her dress at them.
Whatever. You know - sensationalism. Lots of pictures though in NYC, where they are.

This was tweeted yesterday, so it's only 4 more days until one of my favorite shows. And remember Tom Bergeron is the subject...but not until the last week of this series.
