Can we please have a photoshot similar to this of Meryl. I love that we got the VB one, but I would love to see her in something similar like this.

Interesting.....
Alan Salazar Co-Choreographed Witney Carson’s 2 Emmy Nominated Dances - Got No Credit
So choreographer Alan Salazar posted on IG last night, his displeasure with not being credited as a choreographer with DWTS’ Witney Carson for her 2 Emmy nominated routines, “It’s Not Unusual” (Carlton Dance) & “Sing With A Swing-Apache” (Alfonso Freestyle) that he claims he helped choreograph. Judging from his post, it seems to be that Alan is the one who helps Witney with many of her routines over 2 seasons which is odd that he didn’t have a contract for hire with the show. Looking at his IG, one can assume he has helped choreographed many other DWTS routines, like Sharna & Noah’s Jazz. Chris & Witney routines, and I’m sure, so again no contract for hire is very odd..He did acknowledge that DWTS producers & Witney tried to fight for the nomination/credit for him. He doesn’t seem bitter about the situation & is still happy for Witney & her nomination.
Here’s his full message,
“As exciting as it was to learn 2 of the pieces I helped create with Witney were nominated for an Emmy. It was disheartening to learn my name was not credited. Despite the efforts of@dancingabc and @witneycarson to add my name to the nomination, the TV Academy rules will not allow it without an existing contract for hire or an on-screen credit. I greatly appreciate all the messages of support, I also want to make sure I do not take away from such an amazing achievement. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute and I am so proud of the choreographer and creator Witney has developed into. Congratulations on your first Emmy Nomination!”
My 2 Cents: First of all, in no way do I believe this is Witney’s fault as I’m sure some fans will like to make it seem. Secondly, I feel like this was bound to happen at some point & it’s DWTS’ producers/ TBTB’s fault. Granted Alan acknowledges that they tried to get him credited, BUT forgive me if I don’t believe that the experienced television producers that work on the show & submit nominations yearly don’t know the rules for a show like the Emmy’s after 10 years & 20 seasons.
I think it’s known fact or a general consensus, as claimed by former DWTS pro Louis Van Amstel & others that have closely worked on the show that some choreographers don’t solely choreograph their routines. DWTS producers seem hell-bent on convincing viewers throughout the seasons that the pros ALL choreograph their routines without help form outsiders, with few exceptions over the years.. The training packages rarely ever show & outsider or someone else helping a pro choreograph a routine even though WE know they exist somewhere for some pros. I thinks it’s fair to assume that we as viewers don’t care if some pros do it themselves or not, we just want a great finished product, so why lie to us? As, mentioned above, if Alan clearly helped Witney & many other pros choreograph multiple routines over multiple seasons, Chris & Witney, Alfonso & Witney, Noah & Sharna’s jazz, why was he not officially contracted, which would have qualified him as a credited choreographer? So DWTS doesn’t give extra or outside choreographers on screen-credit, & they don’t put them on contracts for hire, disqualifying them from receiving nominations all together. So again forgive me I don’t believe the DWTS producers didn’t know this would happen.
Knowing Witney or any pro for that matter gets help with their routines doesn’t really my opinion of her/them as pro, she’s still a great choreographer, dancer & partner. If I found out Derek got help for most if not all of his signature routines, I wouldn’t like him any less or think of him as less of a genius, as he still contributed to concept & choreo just maybe not solely.. Believe it or not talented people get help with things, the Hough’s included, it’s called a collaboration, (ie.. Derek & Julianne’s Emmy nominated Sia routine was choreographed WITH Tessandra Chavez, all 3 received a nom). Awards nominations & wins aside, it’s just the right thing to do, to acknowledge someone else helped you succeed in some way if they did,. The reason I don’t blame Witney for not mentioning him before the tweets she sent when she got nominated, because she’s an employee of DWTS & those producers seem to keep those on a leash about things. But why give credit so long after the fact & when nominated, why not when these routines are actually created? He’s clearly worked with multiple pros not just Witney. But Alan Salazar helped DWTS as show succeed by CO-choreographing a dance with an incredibly popular dance move from the 90′s that went viral. A perfect example of how it should be done regardless of awards is when Mark credited Misha Gabriel for helping with the epic viral Super Mario freestyle, immediately after the dance on IG,
If DWTS is really about dance culture & bringing it to the masses, why be so cagey about who does what for who? Collaborating is a big part of dance.
DO you think it’s time DWTS producers address the elephant usually in the room in training packages when it comes to, who helps choreographs, what dances?

Good Saturday morning to all!!
It's a sunny and probably getting hotter morning here in SoCal. Granddaughter is still sleeping and I didn't have to fix breakfast for hubby so thought I would check in quickly.
We are headed to Tahoe tomorrow morning for a few days with daughter and SIL. We've had the older girls for the past 9 days, so have been crazy busy doing things. Had a "down" day yesterday and got the kitchen floor mopped, the vacuuming done, and have collected up 2 grocery sacks of things left behind!! It's been a fun time visiting all sorts of fun kid places (aquarium where they petted sharks, kids' museum, which is a favorite, beach for an afternoon, pool swimming and fishing, etc. Also had a few days of afternoon thunderstorms--very unusual for this time of the year! The storm seems to have passed so now it will just be hot and sunny.
Managed to fit in our Wed. nite quilting supper, which was a nice respite!! Great to experience a bit of much needed female adult company!
Have some tomatoes from the garden that need preparing and freezing before we head to the Minion Movie after lunch, so things are winding down.
Need to get crackin' before it gets too hot. Will try to catch up and chat from Tahoe in the next couple days. Depends on the wifi strength, but will try.
Hope you all are doing well and having a fun summer.
CEK: When do you leave for FL?
APRIL: Glad things are looking up for you. Your roller coaster is never-ending but glad the downs have begun to turn up.
CASSIDY: How are things with your family?
