Re: 1st Anniversary for the Ladies Room! (they said it'd never last. Hah!!

Happy Thursday Everyone!  It's a wonderful 78 degrees her in NOVA and this is my kind of weather.  Almost unheard of for August in Virginia but I will take it.
Had a wonderful week with the granddaughter and now she is back in Pittsburgh.  Thinking of going up to spend a few says with her before her classes start later this month.  If I could fold her up and put her in my pocket I would, that way we would always be together.  I know, I am pathetic!
The knee is much better, have trouble every now and then but for the most part is ok, thanks for asking CEK.
Waiting for season 21 pro list to be announced, have to admit I am not very excited about it though, wish I had more enthusiasm for it. I'll probably watch the show for Val and Derek and possibly Mark and Emma, she is my favorite female dancer.   Most of the others leave me cold.
Have a great day !

Candace Cameron Bure Talks Fuller House,The View and DWTS

Candace Cameron Bure decided to focus her new book, “Dancing With the Stars, Dancing Through Life: Steps of Courage and Conviction=14px” about her experience on Dancing With The Stars, dealing with modesty, and leaping out of her comfort zone. Below are a few questions she answered for Time.
Why did you decide to write a whole book about your Dancing With the Stars experience?Bure: Two reasons. After doing that show, I learned so much about myself in such a short amount of time. Each week really was filled with these huge life lessons, which I didn’t think I could learn at the age that I’m at. So that in itself was quite a shock and surprised me. And the other reason was that I had wanted to write a book about conviction, and yet I never felt that I had the right platform to write it. So after DWTS, it was the perfect place to write about courage and conviction, and then share the experience and all the life lessons. I was actually scheduled to write a book on a different topic, and after I had done DWTS, a week later I called my publisher and said, “Hey, can we switch gears? Because I really want to write about this and I think it would be perfect, and it’s so fresh in my mind, let me just do this,” and they were on board.

You write about struggling with modesty on Dancing With the Stars. What do you think is the biggest misconception about Christian womanhood in America?I think that so many people—and it can be both people of faith and secular people—I feel like things are often put to the extreme one way or another, and there’s not a lot of common sense that goes along with it. It’s like you hear from people that aren’t Christians, and when they mock you, they want to say, “Oh, shouldn’t you be in a turtleneck and something covering your ankles?” That’s not silly in certain cultures, but for living in America, obviously that’s something that’s said with such sarcasm, they’re trying to get at you.And yet within Christians, everyone has a different set of standards, and that’s why it was important for me to say, “Hey, these are what my convictions are, you may not agree with my conviction as a Christian, but at the end of the day, I will stand before God on my own, you’ll stand before God on your own, so if you have a different standard, great, you’re gonna talk to him about it, I’m gonna talk to him about it, I’ll have to deal with my own consequences.” That’s where I stand, but I feel like the biggest misconception about the word “modesty” in general is just that it’s restricted to hemlines and necklines and clothes, when modesty is so much more about our character, and the way we carry ourselves, and the way we speak and act. That was the thing that I wanted to get across the most, because the Bible doesn’t really talk about hemlines.

I've noticed that Candace has done a few new movies on Hallmark in the past year or so.  Glad her career is being rejuvenated...and perhaps dwts contributed to that in some way as it helped Meryl and Rumer get opportunities.

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. BREAKING NEWS:  We got a little "rain" today!!!  LOL  About 15 drops before it moved on!!!  HAHA  Such is a SoCal summer "storm" that included one loud clap of thunder....and nothing else!!   Hoping there are cooler temps up north to help with the wildfires.  The Rock Fire in the Clear Lake area jumped the main highway through that area a few days ago.

Wishing everyone up there the best in a horrific situation.

Hi, all!  Only a few more days left in France.   We fly home on Tuesday.   It has gotten hot yesterday through Saturday!  And no AC!   Currenlty at the local McDonalds for (1) free wifi (2) coke with ice (3) AC.

Interesting to see all the DWTS scuttlebut.  I can't force myself to care anymore.   A friend and her mom saw Derek & Julianne's show last week and said it was much better than last year and that they danced in every number.

I'm still so psyched about Sway in Miami!   I cannot believe all I am going to be doing.   I was going to go back to NYC to Soho for a week of lessons in October, but I am not going to spend the money on that, given what I'm spending in December.   Plus I don't want to take that extra time off from work.   I'll just work with my regular teacher.

Will have lots of pix to post when I return.  I'm trying to figure out a good place to do it so everyone can see them, maybe Flickr.

Hope everyone is well!

Thanks for checking in tango and letting us know how you're going.  Sounds like you had a great time in France, for the most part at least.

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!
