Hi guys :-) sorry it took so long for me to get here with an update.......things have been crazy busy here.....my daughter had her treatment which went well and took a few days in the hospital......then she started having a lot of nausea which took us back to the doc.....she had to get meds for the nausea and iv fluids to prevent dehydration.....she is doing well now.......I have also been busy helping my son get ready for his next semester of collage and meeting with teachers, doctors etc.....to come up with a plan for my daughter for the coming school year.....it will be her senior year and she REALLY wants to do it on campus so we are trying to come up with a way to make that possible for her....she is also VERY determined she wants to be in band again for her senior year so we are working on that too....so that she can maybe be a part of it in some way.......oh and I have 2 nieces due next week....LoL.....one is due on the 11th and one due on the 12th.....lol....so its a race to see who will be born first for us :-) .......So how are things going for you all?????? Did I miss anything??????? I am hoping to be able to be on later today to catch up on everything........((((((hugs))))))
I was getting worried about you all....Glad things are better and calming down a bit...off to college will be soon. Is he going to school near home? Glad she is doing better, she is a very determined young lady and I know if there is anyway possible for her to go she will find it...but she gets that from her mama cause we know you are a strong woman...but then you are in the "sisterhood" LOL
Thing are SLOW right now, just waiting for the new season to start. I am going to see what is new now...
HUGS to you and the family!!!
awwww......thanks cek and yes he actually lives with us and commutes to the college for classes.....lol....he is not into living on campus and dorm life....LOL....and I think we have it worked out that she will be doing part days when she can and will be playing "stand tunes" with the band but not doing the marching....."stand tunes" mean she will sit with them in the stands and play then but won't have to do the marching part....this way she can still be part of the band but not over do it

Our quick tour of National Parks is taking us to Glacier. I've been there - maybe 30 years ago. It seems to me we took a driving tour with a casette tape guiding us through points of interest. casette tape

Have a wonderful day everyone. HUGS to you all!!!!
Good evening, ladies!
CEK, you sweetie ... thinking about everyone else when it's almost DISNEY time!!! 😊 Yes, we are all moved in. Finally got sod put in yesterday and started putting together the kids' new trampoline - as promised!! They start school Monday (boo!!!) so I'm guessing I'm gonna be a little sad for a few days - my baby will be in full-day kindergarten this year ... waaahhhh!!! I'm starting a new job the week after - my first outside the home in nearly 13 years. I am going to assistant teaching at the preschool where our youngest attended last year. I'm going to be working in the two-year-old room two days a week! His teacher from last year called and asked me to apply ... I was quite flattered and like her a lot so decided to give it a whirl. More babies to cuddle while mine are at school! 😊Oh, Tennessee....baby of the family going off to all-day kindergarten. I remember this too. And yet, you have to be so non-chalant and up-beat, so "worrying about mama...she's sad" isn't a burden put on them at all.
Your idea to work part time is great. And remember, these little empty nest experiences are toughening you up for the Big One. I read somewhere long, long ago that motherhood is simply a series of goodbyes. We help them learn steps toward independence...and then Yikes! they become independent.
I'll bet your Tennessee home is beautiful. So happy that you are finally settled. And maybe you'll have a little more time to visit with us. We're hoping that the coming season of DWTS will offer some fascinating celebrities and interesting couples. I remind myself that I was not going to watch Season 19 at all - only tuned in to see if possibly Meryl was in the audience - and ended up loving the season.
Awww......Tennessee thats an emotional day seeing your baby head off to school for the first time ....how is school going???? ....glad your all moved in to your new home....here's a house warming gift

Thanks for the update, April. It's always good to hear from you. I hope your daughter can be in school with her friends; senior year is special, and I know she wants to be part of everything. Let us know about the nieces; are they first babies or do they have older siblings? Love you.
Aww.....thanks Annie and the first niece got here last night they are both first babies......they are both my great-nieces.....one (the one we are still waiting on) belongs to my niece and her hubby and the one that arrived last night belongs to my nephew and his wife

April, hoping that your daughter gets to spend some time in school this year as well as participating in band. Last year of high school, can you imagine that? Time flies once they go to school.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Off to the store, what to make for dinner? Always a mystery. UGH.
Thanks Eastcoast I think we have it worked out for her to be there part time when she can how are things going for you?????

Gotta get back to work...I'm ecstatic that we are ordering all materials for the new, front deck!! The old porch and brick planter had to be bulldozed away after the flood to make room for the FEMA trailer (which we lived in for a year). We wanted it (the trailer) on our property rather than moving to a FEMA community built outside of town.
For 2 years, we have lived with a temporary set of steps at the front door. Adequate, but this new Trex deck marks a real "progress is being made" moment for me.
Awww.......View congrats on your new front deck it reminded me of this old song....hope you enjoy it and enjoy your new deck

Before I sign off for now, on a personal note, daughter called yesterday to say that they signed the "adoption placement" papers for the baby!!!! YEA!!! That means they will next be able to set a date for the final adoption!!! Another trip coming up, it would seem!!!! Unfortunately, we can't do it in October when we go up for the Hall of Fame induction of daughter's 1995 national tournament softball team because her MIL has a family wedding the same day (daughter and SIL got a dispensation from the bride's dad--SIL's brother!)!!! We'll figure it out, I'm sure!!! Just so pleased that the final phase is near. It's been just one year (on Aug. 22) since baby was place with them in foster care.
Jet...congratulations ! I remember they were fostering a baby, but had thought I missed some of the news along the way. This is wonderful!
What a lot of babies and baby news in the Ladies Room. I love it.
YAY!!! Congratulations Jet love all the baby news going around for us in the sisterhood right now!!

I second this from Annie to you, April.
Hoping that everything continues to go well for you and your daughter. I'm sure you will be able to work out something with the school.
Thanks Jet
