I read your post, Luv, and I agree.

I have this to share with you that Meryl tweeted.  It certainly belongs here on the general thread for everyone.

I think the new thread Booky started is for 'Meryl and Charlie as they go forward' after their Olympic career, and their DWTS notoriety... together and separatey.   It looks like it's also good venue for reposting some of their best loved performances to watch again.

But, as you say...their current lives and performances are certainly of interest to all of us, and I don't really want to have to bounce around too much make contact with all the sisters.

Am I understanding the intent of the thread, Booky?

Today, Meryl is in wine country...

Look at the little peek we see of the dress below the sweater.  Our favorite!!  from that certain rehearsal.

Hi View!  I know some of you are good about posting info on Meryl and Charlie here, but I thought it would be nice to have a thread to put all that info, plus anything Meryl and Charlie related that anyone would like to contribute.  I don't want anyone to feel like they have to post there.  It's just another thread that everyone can read at their own leisure if they so desire.  I think there are some who have lost interest in the DWTS fam but they want info on Meryl and Charlie, so that's another reason for starting a thread devoted to them.  I'm hoping that this way we can all be happy and maybe get some of the missing sisters to come back and post with us.

That's a great idea, booky.  I'm not following DWTS Australia either.  Don't really want to get into it as I know it will take up lots of time to do so.  But I will look when S. 21 starts.

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Good evening, ladies!

CEK, you sweetie ... thinking about everyone else when it's almost DISNEY time!!! 😊 Yes, we are all moved in. Finally got sod put in yesterday and started putting together the kids' new trampoline - as promised!! They start school Monday (boo!!!) so I'm guessing I'm gonna be a little sad for a few days - my baby will be in full-day kindergarten this year ... waaahhhh!!! I'm starting a new job the week after - my first outside the home in nearly 13 years. I am going to assistant teaching at the preschool where our youngest attended last year. I'm going to be working in the two-year-old room two days a week! His teacher from last year called and asked me to apply ... I was quite flattered and like her a lot so decided to give it a whirl. More babies to cuddle while mine are at school! 😊

Oh, Tennessee....baby of the family going off to all-day kindergarten.  I remember this too.  And yet, you have to be so non-chalant and up-beat, so "worrying about mama...she's sad"  isn't a burden put on them at all.

Your idea to work part time is great.  And remember, these little empty nest experiences are toughening you up for the Big One.    I read somewhere long, long ago that motherhood is simply a series of goodbyes.  We help them learn steps toward independence...and then Yikes!  they become independent.

I'll bet your Tennessee home is beautiful.  So happy that you are finally settled.  And maybe you'll have a little more time to visit with us.  We're hoping that the coming season of DWTS will offer some fascinating celebrities and interesting couples.  I remind myself that I was not going to watch Season 19 at all - only tuned in to see if possibly Meryl was in the audience - and ended up loving the season.

Hi All - very early morning here on the East coast!

View! You made me tear up! Yes ... a series of goodbyes ... sad but so true. Yet it's what we as moms hope for, right? If we've done our jobs well, then hopefully they all will want to (and will be able to) leave the nest someday. Growing pains all around, I guess! Sigh!

We had a great last summer weekend here. My husband's brother flew in for a short couple days from CO. Kids all had a great time with him. Everyone was up late tonight (even our five-year-old!) sitting out on the back deck, counting stars, listening to the crazy-loud cicadas, telling stories, and just being silly. Great way to end break.

Hope everyone is enjoying these last fleeting days of summer (or winter for Gabriele!). I am VERY much looking forward to fall - my favorite season by far. Hope DWTS has a solid cast this year. Fall TV is always a nice distraction. Speaking of "Anthropologie" as Meryl did ... I absolutely love that store!! Had to immediately go online and browse when I read that. Nothing like a little retail therapy! 😉

Hey, Tennessee....so good to see you on the board.  Sorry I missed you but I'm sure it is nice to be in your new house and settling in!  We always enjoy reading family news from our sisters.  Sounds like you had a great summer break.  It was my favorite time of year when our kids were growing up.

Wishing you well in your new job and getting used to empty nest.  It's nice to have part time work when the last child starts school.  Kind've gives you the best of everything.  Enjoy!

Before I sign off for now, on a personal note, daughter called yesterday to say that they signed the "adoption placement" papers for the baby!!!!   YEA!!!  That means they will next be able to set a date for the final adoption!!!  Another trip coming up, it would seem!!!!  Unfortunately, we can't do it in October when we go up for the Hall of Fame induction of daughter's 1995 national tournament softball team because her MIL has a family wedding the same day (daughter and SIL got a dispensation from the bride's dad--SIL's brother!)!!!  We'll figure it out, I'm sure!!!  Just so pleased that the final phase is near.  It's been just one year (on Aug. 22) since baby was place with them in foster care.

Jet...congratulations !  I remember they were fostering a baby, but had thought I missed some of the news along the way.  This is wonderful!

What a lot of babies and baby news in the Ladies Room.  I love it.

Oh, YEA!!! A huge congrats to your daughter and all your family!!!! 😃

Thanks so much!  We are looking forward to the final court hearing.  It is a happy time; the judges love it!  Then the kids get to celebrate their "special day" (adoption anniversary) when it rolls around each year.

Oh, Yellowstone....    We may have to spend many mornings with you.

Don't miss posts from gabriele, Tennessee, CEK that came later last night.

Have a wonderful Sunday, sisters.

Beautiful place!!!  Thanks, View.  The volcano...Kilawea...on the Big Island of Hawaii spews geyser steam as well.  Volcanoes are so cool!!  My dad was a geologist so we "studied" (i.e. he lectured, we listened!) all geothermals, fault lines, cinder cones, you name it across the west and southwest when we were growing up.  We knew Dad was seriously "studying" when Mom drove and he sat in the passenger seat peering out the window from all angles...then he'd yell, "STOP!"  We'd jump out with the geologist's pick that was always under the driver's seat and start pounding on rocks!!!!  Ah, yes.....4 kids fighting over 1 pick!!!  LOL
