Hi guys :-) sorry it took so long for me to get here with an update.......things have been crazy busy here.....my daughter had her treatment which went well and took a few days in the hospital......then she started having a lot of nausea which took us back to the doc.....she had to get meds for the nausea and iv fluids to prevent dehydration.....she is doing well now.......I have also been busy helping my son get ready for his next semester of collage and meeting with teachers, doctors etc.....to come up with a plan for my daughter for the coming school year.....it will be her senior year and she REALLY wants to do it on campus so we are trying to come up with a way to make that possible for her....she is also VERY determined she wants to be in band again for her senior year so we are working on that too....so that she can maybe be a part of it in some way.......oh and I have 2 nieces due next week....LoL.....one is due on the 11th and one due on the 12th.....lol....so its a race to see who will be born first for us :-) .......So how are things going for you all?????? Did I miss anything??????? I am hoping to be able to be on later today to catch up on everything........((((((hugs))))))
I was getting worried about you all....Glad things are better and calming down a bit...off to college will be soon. Is he going to school near home? Glad she is doing better, she is a very determined young lady and I know if there is anyway possible for her to go she will find it...but she gets that from her mama cause we know you are a strong woman...but then you are in the "sisterhood" LOL
Thing are SLOW right now, just waiting for the new season to start. I am going to see what is new now...
HUGS to you and the family!!!awwww......thanks cek and yes he actually lives with us and commutes to the college for classes.....lol....he is not into living on campus and dorm life....LOL....and I think we have it worked out that she will be doing part days when she can and will be playing "stand tunes" with the band but not doing the marching....."stand tunes" mean she will sit with them in the stands and play then but won't have to do the marching part....this way she can still be part of the band but not over do it
That is so great, April. I'm sure it will mean a great deal to her--however much she is able to do.

Our quick tour of National Parks is taking us to Glacier. I've been there - maybe 30 years ago. It seems to me we took a driving tour with a casette tape guiding us through points of interest. casette tape
Only one in VA...a lot in the west and in Alaska. I would love to go to Alaska.
I would love to go to Alaska too have any of you guys been to Alaska????
On the bucket list. Hubby graduated from HS there, tho, when his dad was in the AF many moons ago--before it was a state!!! His youngest sister was born there. They were there 4 years--and during the time AK became a state. We need to go back there.

Before I sign off for now, on a personal note, daughter called yesterday to say that they signed the "adoption placement" papers for the baby!!!! YEA!!! That means they will next be able to set a date for the final adoption!!! Another trip coming up, it would seem!!!! Unfortunately, we can't do it in October when we go up for the Hall of Fame induction of daughter's 1995 national tournament softball team because her MIL has a family wedding the same day (daughter and SIL got a dispensation from the bride's dad--SIL's brother!)!!! We'll figure it out, I'm sure!!! Just so pleased that the final phase is near. It's been just one year (on Aug. 22) since baby was place with them in foster care.
Jet...congratulations ! I remember they were fostering a baby, but had thought I missed some of the news along the way. This is wonderful!
What a lot of babies and baby news in the Ladies Room. I love it.YAY!!! Congratulations Jet love all the baby news going around for us in the sisterhood right now!!
THanks! I love the butterfly!! So appropriate!! Yes, wonderfu baby news....mostly girls!!! Girls rule!!!

I just don't get how those puffed up fish mouths are either attractive or something that shows appreciation. Perhaps I'm just out of touch?!!!! LOL
There is nothing remotely attractive about the fish lips, no matter who you are.

Oh, Tennessee....baby of the family going off to all-day kindergarten. I remember this too. And yet, you have to be so non-chalant and up-beat, so "worrying about mama...she's sad" isn't a burden put on them at all.
Your idea to work part time is great. And remember, these little empty nest experiences are toughening you up for the Big One. I read somewhere long, long ago that motherhood is simply a series of goodbyes. We help them learn steps toward independence...and then Yikes! they become independent.
I'll bet your Tennessee home is beautiful. So happy that you are finally settled. And maybe you'll have a little more time to visit with us. We're hoping that the coming season of DWTS will offer some fascinating celebrities and interesting couples. I remind myself that I was not going to watch Season 19 at all - only tuned in to see if possibly Meryl was in the audience - and ended up loving the season.
Hi All - very early morning here on the East coast!
View! You made me tear up! Yes ... a series of goodbyes ... sad but so true. Yet it's what we as moms hope for, right? If we've done our jobs well, then hopefully they all will want to (and will be able to) leave the nest someday. Growing pains all around, I guess! Sigh!
We had a great last summer weekend here. My husband's brother flew in for a short couple days from CO. Kids all had a great time with him. Everyone was up late tonight (even our five-year-old!) sitting out on the back deck, counting stars, listening to the crazy-loud cicadas, telling stories, and just being silly. Great way to end break.
Hope everyone is enjoying these last fleeting days of summer (or winter for Gabriele!). I am VERY much looking forward to fall - my favorite season by far. Hope DWTS has a solid cast this year. Fall TV is always a nice distraction. Speaking of "Anthropologie" as Meryl did ... I absolutely love that store!! Had to immediately go online and browse when I read that. Nothing like a little retail therapy! 😉
Hey, Tennessee....so good to see you on the board. Sorry I missed you but I'm sure it is nice to be in your new house and settling in! We always enjoy reading family news from our sisters. Sounds like you had a great summer break. It was my favorite time of year when our kids were growing up.
Wishing you well in your new job and getting used to empty nest. It's nice to have part time work when the last child starts school. Kind've gives you the best of everything. Enjoy!
Thank you, Jet! 😘

Oh, YEA!!! A huge congrats to your daughter and all your family!!!! 😃
Thanks so much! We are looking forward to the final court hearing. It is a happy time; the judges love it! Then the kids get to celebrate their "special day" (adoption anniversary) when it rolls around each year.
Our friends (and others, I've heard) sometimes refer to it as their "gotcha day". I think it kinda has creepy overtones, but their daughter doesn't seem to mind. Ha! We all love showering her with attention no matter what the day is called. VERY special indeed!! I pray these days pass quickly and without incident. Excited for all the joy to come for your family! 😊

Rather repulsive. Why do they do this when their natural lips look just fine?

Good Monday Morning Everyone....
Sorry I missed yesterday but I was spinning in circles not acomplishing anything. Today is going to be a bit hectic too...I have acupuncture in a couple hours then it is home to get the dogs and cats ready to take to the vet, pack, straighten up a bit and do the laundry that is left and get all the trash out. Not to bad really, I have most of my clothes ready to put in the suitcases.
I am going to miss being on with you, but I will check in to tell you how things are going.
I will come back on tonight too!!!!
April glad things are going well with your family and congrats on the new niece, Jet congratulations on the adoption news, View you are making progress, Cassidy glad to hear from you.
I know I am missing someone but you know I think and love you all!!!!
