I have to share a very funny story!!

Last nite while 6 other gals and I were enjoying our Wednesday nite quilting get-together, the phone rang. It was my daughter. I answered and she asked if all my friends were still here; she said she needed some advice from all of us (she has known pretty much all of them for almost as long as I have). Long story short, her oldest daughter (almost 9), while Dad, who is suffering from a bad back at the moment, was looking after the 3 girls while Mom was out, had been snooping through kitchen cupboards probably looking for a snack when she discovered all the baby teeth she had lost stashed in an unused canister!!! Don't ask me why they were saved, much less in a canister in the kitchen--but they were!!! So daughter needed help with how to perpetuate the Tooth Fairy in lieu of this discovery!!!

Auntie, who was here, had the perfect solution: she suggested that the kids write to the Tooth Fairy, under the presumption that she sometimes has so many houses to visit that she can't carry all the teeth so leaves them in a special place in the house so she can pick them up on a future visit!!! LOL LOL

Here is the oldest granddaughter writing to the Tooth Fairy:

Daughter's description of what occurred:
"It didn't quite go as scripted by auntie however the magic never left the building! Somehow we got to "we have a relationship with the tooth fairy!" And "we can be sisters , cousins or best friends!" Somehow the tooth fairy is also connected to Santa! Letter writing their idea! Not mine! RISE of the GUARDIANS movie saved my ASS! Haven't seen it? Find it! Best movie EVERRRRRR!!"

Second granddaughter decided to write to Santa, which prompted the girl and boy Elf on a Shelf to appear over nite holding this note!

Much excitement erupted in the land of the North Coast of CA! Oldest granddaughter proclaimed "this is the best day ever" (she has many of those, which is a testimony to her exuberance for life--but that means she will never forget it either!)....and prompted the making of gifts for the Tooth Fairy today!!

I asked my daughter what was going to happen tonite. Her response: "I have no idea!"

Just thought that was good enough to share!!!

Love it! And what an adorable girl -- beautiful and sweet. Thanks for sharing.

SEQUEL
Today my daughter was trying to shoo away a gnat or fruit fly from the Elf on the Shelf (that appeared in Chapter 1 of this story)...and accidentally touched him (that is verboten by the rules of "Elf on the Shelf" and he was quarantined for a while at Christmas when one of the kids touched him!!!!).  Recalling the trauma, the kids immediately called her out for touching the Elf, of course, and her punishment was to write a letter to Santa and include a gift--both of which are included in a gift bag which is in the mailbox awaiting pickup by, I guess, the Tooth Fairy tonite!!!!  LOL  LOL

What a tangled web we weave......

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Hope everyone is slumbering soundly.  Gonna get out of here and consider unwinding.

Sweet dreams!!!

Sorry to hear about your losses, east.  We had our Maxine put down in May this year at age 21.  And while she was an outdoors cat all her life, even winter, and we aren't a cat family, it was sad and we miss her.  She went downhill after she had gone deaf.  She couldn't hear me anymore when I called for feeding and I didn't always see her straight away or was home when she turned up.

Thanks Gabriele, no one was more surprised than I was when I cried multiple times yesterday over Drake. I guess he caught me off guard as I am not someone who cries. Drake couldn't hear toward the end either and had to be lifted from the litter box as he couldn't get out on his own. I hope they don't get another cat, I can't take it!!!

My cousin Anthony's wife Jean (pictured second from the left) is home and hospice had been called in.  Her family is making her comfortable and it looks like she is losing her battle with cancer. This started just a little over a year ago when she had stomach pains. She is exacty as she looks here, a warm, funny, bright and caring person.  My cousin and she raised three wonderful kids who are there for her every step of the way.

Plus, there were two deaths in my family within the past week.  My aunt (Dad's sister) passed away Saturday. She was 89 and was the last remaining child of my dad's very large (12 kids) family.
On Sunday, a cousin passed (mom's side) and he was 93.  Both were a big part of my life and as sad as it is, they both lived many years in which to enjoy their lives.

Today, my grandcat Drake went to cat heaven too.  He was 18 and as much as I am not an animal lover, he was part of the family.  Daughter, son in law and kids are so sad at this time.

So, that is enough reality for me for now...want to escape into another more trouble free world.

My grandcat Drake, RIP buddy!

Wow EC, you have been hit with a lot lately.  So sorry for the loss of your family members, four leggers included.

It's interesting to me how Bobby Flay, allegedly accused of marital indescretions is going through yet another divorce. Can't help but think that without his multiple cooking shows on the Food Network and his numerous restaurants, this high school dropout wouldn't be able to get a girl to look at him.
