My cousin Anthony's wife Jean (pictured second from the left) is home and hospice had been called in. Her family is making her comfortable and it looks like she is losing her battle with cancer. This started just a little over a year ago when she had stomach pains. She is exacty as she looks here, a warm, funny, bright and caring person. My cousin and she raised three wonderful kids who are there for her every step of the way.
Plus, there were two deaths in my family within the past week. My aunt (Dad's sister) passed away Saturday. She was 89 and was the last remaining child of my dad's very large (12 kids) family.
On Sunday, a cousin passed (mom's side) and he was 93. Both were a big part of my life and as sad as it is, they both lived many years in which to enjoy their lives.
Today, my grandcat Drake went to cat heaven too. He was 18 and as much as I am not an animal lover, he was part of the family. Daughter, son in law and kids are so sad at this time.
So, that is enough reality for me for now...want to escape into another more trouble free world.
My grandcat Drake, RIP buddy!
Awwwwww........so sorry for all your losses East coast ((((((hugs and holding your hands))))). .....I will be praying for you and your family
Jean passed away this morning. She passed quietly and with a smile and that is how I will remember htis remarkable human being that brought so much joy and genuine love to our family. My cousin and his kids will be strong and they will draw strength from each other. Like their mom, they are remarkable too.

So sorry, eastcoast...
When we lose loved ones who have lived a rich, full, and long life - it is somewhat easier to understand. But your cousin's wife...it seems she was younger.
My ex-husband, whom I see very infrequently except that we brought two lovely children in to the world and share grandchildren...called and said he was in town, could he stop by for a cup of coffee.
And proceeded to share that he has a quite advanced case of cancer. Sort of a "farewell tour" in case treatment is unsuccessful.
"Wished he'd been a better husband...glad I have such a good man in the second marriage...thanked me for being who I am, and such a good mother to his kids" etc.
With new treatments such as they are, I hope it is not as dire as he feels it is. But one just never knows.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jean sounds like a wonderful person. May the love and strength that she showed in life continue in those that are left behind.

That must have been a very poignant moment for the two of you, View. I hope all goes well with his cancer treatment plan.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and thoughts, it means a lot to me.
View, I hope that your ex husband finds a treatment that works for him.
