Hey Booky,
What did you think of AGT last night? I think it was great, so many good acts this year......although, for some strange reason, I think a singer will win this year.
Hi Luv! I'm really enjoying this season. I was blown away by that mentalist! I can't figure out how he's able to read people's minds the way he does. I wouldn't be surprised if a singer wins because there's so many that are exceptional this year. I would love to see a good dance group or acrobatic act win for a change, though.
Tonight is the live result's show and we find out which ones get to move on to the next round. I hope we get a good mix of talent, instead of a whole bunch of singers.

So sorry, eastcoast...
When we lose loved ones who have lived a rich, full, and long life - it is somewhat easier to understand. But your cousin's wife...it seems she was younger.
My ex-husband, whom I see very infrequently except that we brought two lovely children in to the world and share grandchildren...called and said he was in town, could he stop by for a cup of coffee.
And proceeded to share that he has a quite advanced case of cancer. Sort of a "farewell tour" in case treatment is unsuccessful.
"Wished he'd been a better husband...glad I have such a good man in the second marriage...thanked me for being who I am, and such a good mother to his kids" etc.
With new treatments such as they are, I hope it is not as dire as he feels it is. But one just never knows.
That must have been a very poignant moment for the two of you, View. I hope all goes well with his cancer treatment plan.Yes, Booky, it was. Would have been more so, if it had not been such a surprise. I was sort of in shock, and related that with the successful battles with cancer in the family lately, perhaps he should be more optimistic...etc. I just spoke to my son who because of his work is on his way to Minneapolis and coincidentally his dad is there also for a biopsy and testing. So he will have a chance to spend some time, and get some information.
His mother and dad lived well in to their 80's...his one grandmother lived to be 104 ! So, sadly, probably another example of what smoking and other excesses do to your life expectancy.
Hi View! It's just astounding to me how prevalent cancer has become today. I bet almost every one of us knows someone who's been affected by it. My own niece, who is in her 20's, was diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer a couple of years ago. She was treated at MD Anderson in Houston, and today she is cancer free. Praise God!!! Cancer isn't something that runs in our family which is what makes it so scary. It doesn't discriminate...it can happen to anyone of us, even those who take good care of their health like my niece did.
I'm glad that you were able to forgive your husband so you could move on with your life and be happy. It was especially important to do it for your children. I'm sure they are grateful they had two parents who could put their differences aside and get along with each other.

I think this whole season has been one of the best. So many good acts. You are right about the singers being exceptional this year and how about the "variety" acts? There are some great ones too. I love the Mentalist, and I hate to say it....but the guy that swallows things. LOL I have kind of seen his acts before, but he is entertaining. lol (don't see him winning.....and I am fine with that, but I enjoy him. ) I felt so bad for the father/dancers getting 4 x's last night. However, they were BAD. I kind of liked them during audtions, but last night, they fell apart. They were never "the best" dancers but I liked the idea that they could still move for their age. LOL Still......I hate to see x's on the live shows. Can't wait till tonight for the results. It will be another great night. Love this show.

I know that Stern isn't coming back next season. He talks about what a grind it is to do the show. I have watched the show occasionally but not regularly. I watched it last night and saw the comic who started the show. He wasn't that good but the judges seemed to like him.

Hi East! Wow, I had no idea Howard wasn't planning to come back next season. I remember being none too happy when I first found out he would be replacing Piers Morgan in the judge's seat, now I can't imagine the show without him. I wonder who they'll hire to replace him?

Oh, I felt so bad for them too, getting buzzed by all the judges! I know they weren't great but they weren't horrible either. Wished they had let them finish the routine, at least, but maybe the judges wanted to make sure the viewers wouldn't put them through to the next round.

EC, I have not heard that either and Booky, those were/are my exact feelings on Howard. I was so upset when he replaced Piers and now, I really like him. I kind of hate to see him go. He really is a good judge.

I say outlaw x's on the live shows. LOL I think the audience is smart enough to put through the better acts.
