Burning question-I don't like Maks hair, the fact he wears the same clothes over and over, how he treat special ladies in his life. But can you tell me why Maks (and Val) wear capris/ capri length pants, I don't see anyone else doing that! Feminine?

Let's give Maks the benefit of the doubt and assume this "schedule conflict" is really some giant work opportunity that he is not yet able to disclose. (For the record, I don't think this is the case but let's pretend). He could still release an apologetic statement about missing the show and offer a discount to Sway for those folks who bought SWDOI tickets to see him dance with Meryl. It would be a small gesture that many probably couldn't use but it would go a long way. Work it out, Maks.

Maks was tolerable to me solely because of Meryl. I was put off by him before season 18 and he went right back to his usual self after the season ended. I think SWDOI is better off without him and Rumer will do just fine. I think she'll be a lot of fun as a host. I'm ready to see Meryl dance with someone else.

I have lost count on how many times Maks has embarrassed Meryl during her professional events. I really really wish Meryl would back out of Sway now but she is way too classy for that. Also when they first announced SWDOI...weren't they all trying to pretend like Maks was the big star of the show and the only host? But now not a peep about it.He is honestly a disgusting human being and I hope if Meryl is still doing Sway Miami that she has nothing to do with him after that.

I am beginning to think that aside from all his other issues, our boy Maks (saying that jokingly by the way) has a love/hate relationship with women. Way down deep, I don't think he likes them very much. 
His popularty seems to be dwindling, he looks haggard and old and what allure was there during season 18 has evaporated.  Maybe Fratelli's can hire him on as a dancing waiter and they can make a reality show out of that.  UGH

I hope Maks' absence doesn't deter people from going to the show.  Rumer will do a great job as co-host and the skating will be first-rate.  I can't wait to see who Meryl gets to dance with now that Maks is out.  I think she would look great with Dimitry Chaplin.

I'm in total agreement with you, East, concerning Meryl and SWAY.  I'm hoping this will be her last one.  I would like to see her move on to other things and cut her ties with Maks and the Fam.  Let's face it, the magic isn't there anymore and I'm worried that her continuing association with these people will only bring problems for her, such as yesterday when she had to field angry tweets from the fans because of Maks' withdrawal.  Time to move on, in my opinion.
