LOVE the contributions to our Feast so far!
And hope to see some recipes on the Real Life thread
May I contribute by helping to decorate and set the table?! That is one of my favorite things. In past years one or another little granddaughter would come a couple of days early and help me decorate and set the table. But even when I was young and lived away from home, I would use a tablecloth, linen napkins, flowers of some sort for a centerpiece...
I'm sure you are tired of hearing how the flood destroyed everything in my mother's house. But the fun part is that I have been able to buy on line some of the more sentimental odds and ends having to do with family Holiday Dining. Similar to the below:Salt and pepper shakers made by Lefton back in the 50's.
And at Christmas, the "Honey, don't forget your mitten!" shakers that my kids and later grandkids loved. This is actually a true photo from our table the first Christmas back in the house.
I am very Thankful for these little things.
Awww...this is sweet View and yes setting the table is important
I love hearing about your salt shakers......it makes me wonder are there any other thanksgiving traditions you or the other sisters have????.....in my family we have a tablecloth that we put out every year with permanent markers and everyone that comes to dinner signs it and puts the year and what they are thankful for.....(because of how many years we have been doing it we now have several..LOL) ....my mom has saved them and it is awesome to look back over them from years past to see the things people have written and how some of those things have changed as we've grown.....some of them have gone from baby handprints before they were old enough to write to being children writing for themselves and now are teens or adults
it's also fun to look back at them (we do this every year before we put the one we're using out).....and be able to remember all the friends that have joined us over the years

My friend placed her order and paid, and then it was turn. I told him what I wanted, and I asked if he was Yaron. Of course, I knew he was, but thought it less creepy to ask. I told him I was there because of Maks, because of all the food pix that he has posted. I asked him if he was coming to Sway and said I would be there, too. He asked where I was from, and I told him. I said I had been to the last 2 Sways as well, and had front row seats to all 5 of the upcoming shows. He walked over to the side and said "Henry, we've got a Swayer here." And there was Henry sitting right there with a friend!
All my travel trials and tribulations were forgotten in an instant. I stepped over and reminded Henry who I was. I told him I was sorry that I hadn't been able to see Forever Tango, but that I was going to Sway for the whole week and would see him there.
My friend and I went out on the terrace and had our late lunch. The food was terrific, every bit as good as the fam's comments and the pix have suggested.OH WOW!! THANKS FOR THIS VIEW AND TANGO!!!! so sorry for you travel troubles but wow what a story about Fratelli's!!! was Henry nice in person?????....I am so excited for you to be at Sway!!!!! can't wait to hear your recap
View, thx for posting. April, Henry is so nice. I had met him before at Sway 2.0. He was the first of the dancers to come out at the after party and we even had a little chat. But I forgot to take a pic with him then and didn't want to bother him here. Love his Aussie accent.
It is all becoming real. Eugene emailed me about the hotel in Miami which is included in the package. Also received the schedule for the Monday boot camp. Instructors are Maks, Tony, Henry, Serge, Ilia, Teresa. Poor Val has to leave for tour rehearsals, I guess.
Off to LA in a bit. 4 hours of lessons in Sherman Oaks tomorrow. Haven't had a chance to work out here, but I've walked MILES! This convention center is huge and our hotel is at the opposite end from the meeting area.
YAY!! I love hearing that they are as nice in person as they seem is it the same hotel they are all staying at????.....and OMG.....you get to get lessons from one of them????....or all of them????? .......I can't wait to hear your recaps!!!....I am so excited for you!!! and glad your hubby is getting to go to one of the shows with you

Ok so I had an idea....things will be getting busy this week with the DWTS two night finale and then Thanksgiving all this week so I wanted to start this today and hopefully it will carry over for the next few days until we have all joined in (even those who don't live in the US...I know this is a US holiday...but come join us...ok)......sooooo here's my idea.......
I think we should have a virtual Thanksgiving dinner together here.....I am going to start it .......just add a post of things you are thankful for this year....from the board or real life....and if you know how post a pic of a Thanksgiving side dish.....(I will bring the turkey).....if you don't know how to post a pic it's no problem...just post your thankful post......everyone is welcome to join in....and it doesn't have to be just today....LOL....our "dinner can last awhile".....I know Sunday's are kind of slower on the board so there may be more sisters here in the next couple of days
I am going to go first to get us started.....
I am so thankful for so much this year......for great doctors and hospital close to home for us and for family and friends.....I am also so thankful for all of you and the support you've given us.....you guys have made me smile on rough days.....held my hands when I needed it and been there to celebrate with me on good days toobefore I met you guys, had someone told me that I could and would become such good friends with women I had never met in person before I probably wouldn't have believed them....but yep that's what happened
and I am really thankful for the laughter......for the times I burst out laughing at something someone said on here and my family looks at me like I'm crazy.....LOL....and I look forward to so much more laughter in the future with you guys too.....LOL.....after all we have holidays coming up and a tour to follow and Tango's trip to Sway and then a whole new season of DWTS(((((group hugs)))))
hope you guys like this idea.......and .....LOL.....here's the turkey!!!
April, I love the idea.
I am going to bring my mother-in-laws broccoli casserole...it is delicious. It is always all gone at the end of dinner...I will post the recipe on our other board for you all. I may bring something else too!!!
What am I thankful for....where do I even start. I am thankful for my family and their love and support...I am thankful that my back is healing. Then like April I am so thankful that a year and a half ago I got on line and found the DWTS board. I have never in my life been on a "chat" type board but it was one of the best and rewarding things that I have done. Like April, I never could have imagined that it would be possible for a group of women from all over the country, actually world (Gabriele and HRM), never meeting in person but forming a friendship that has continued to grow each day. To have and know that you are all out there and care, to like April said, hold our hands, laugh with us, cry with us or just be there to talk to when we need someone has been a great blessing in my life and I hope in yours too!!! We have formed a bond with each other, that I am sure many on the old ABC Board laughed at and said would never last....well it has and I hope it continues to grow an get stronger each day.
I love each of you and am Thankful that you are a part of my life and I am glad to call you all "FAMILY"
Love this CEK and I am so glad your back is healing too
I have loved getting to hear the stories about what led each of us to ABC
.....and ....LOL...(don't throw the nutri-grain at me...LOL)....should we be a little bit (well I don't know what word I want to put here.....Ummm....I wouldn't use thankful....ummm.....LOL...glad???.....ummmmm nope not that one).....how about fondly smiling???? (now that we don't have to deal with him anyway) that we met webby?????.....LOL....He was a major pain but I think we all bonded with each other even more as we "joined forces" against him.....LOL

I love vintage anything, but especially vintage Christmas decorations. Those salt and pepper shakers are so charming, View! Thanks for sharing pics of them with us...enjoyed looking at them.
