What Is Going on With Dancing With the Stars This Season?

There weren’t any interviews last night after Night one. According to Glamour, the couples went straight to rehearsals to practice the 24-hour dance fusion. However, there were some interviews with the eliminated couple Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson that you can read and view below. They don’t seem to broken up about their elimination and more relieved than anything I think. They are also excited to dance tonight. Still, Carlos reiterated that “everything happens for a reason,” and “someone else needs to win this thing, and I’m totally cool with that.” So what’s next? “I’m sure Witney and I will go in the trailer and hug it out and call it a day, but we made it to the final four, so I can’t complain.”

Looking back on his journey and knowing what he knows now, is there anything Carlos would have told himself earlier in the process? “That’s easy! Listen to Witney!” he laughed. “Listen to every single thing she says, because I fought her on every single thing!” Joked Witney: “Well, not everything. You learned towards the end!”

For tonight’s finale, Carlos and Witney will be dancing the Jive, and best of all, it will be Carlos’ Magic Mike routine, where he’ll be joined by the men of DWTS. “It’ll be fun!” (Um, that’s an understatement for us viewers, don’t you think?)

And after DWTS is over, Carlos gets the Thanksgiving holiday to relax, but heads back to work next Monday where he’ll start rehearsals for Grease: Live!, airing in January on Fox. “I’m playing Kenickie, and Witney will be making sure all my moves on spot-on!”

Also on Monday night’s show, train hero Alek Skarlatos made it through to the finale with a score of 57 out of 60 for his two dances, the most impressive of which was a freestyle based on an army obstacle course.

During the routine, Skarlatos and partner Lindsay Arnold climbed a wall with ropes and had to fall off of it backwards for a dramatic ending.

Backstage, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told FOX411 that the Army National Guardsman who helped disarm a terrorist on a Paris train this summer has truly learned how to dance.

“He’s so steadfast and so powerful and so consistent that it’s hard for him to go wrong. He proved himself worthy,” Inaba said, also giving credit to Arnold.

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will be joining Irwin and Skarlatos in Tuesday night’s “DWTS” grand finale after his perfect 60 night with partner Sharna Burgess. He performed to the Backstreet Boys song “Larger Than Life” in an energetic concert-themed freestyle.

“I want to win,” Carter said in rehearsal footage.

And I sure hope Carrie Ann is wrong on this. I voted harder last night than I ever have!

Longtime Judge Inaba told reporters, “It’s hard,” but added, “Bindi’s been the front-runner. I think a lot of people are thinking that Bindi could take this home.”

However, Inaba cautioned, “I would be a little worried when somebody seems to be such a front-runner. Sometimes people forget to vote. We’ve seen crazy things happen and upsets.”
